no need to edit the ini. just select partition from settings and reload cache
the only way I can get movies to show up is to change wiiflows startup to port 1 with wiiflow in the apps and plugins in the wiiflow folder on root but when I try to play a file it kicks me to the main menu maybe mplayer wont work off usb port 1 or am I doing something wrong ? both hard drives work off port 0

Having one other problem in my recent jump from 814 to 902... My gamecube games won't show. When I try to access it through the source menu, it shows a *DISABLED* message. Do I need to manually add the line disable=no to the DM(L) section of the .ini, or am I missing something else? Everything was displaying/loading properly for me in 814.

Here's what the DML section of my ini looks like, appreciate any help on this one!

[DML]
always_show_button=no
cheat=no
current_item=GUZE41

game_language=0
last_cf_mode=3
no_disc_patch=0

Try to launch from HBC, if no problem change your forwarder.

Trying to get everything setup and am having some issues w/covers in particular (for emu's, not for GC or Wii) - basically, is their either a way I can force the game title to be shown on the spine across the 'flow' area or ...barring that...a program that will autogenerate a boxart from a 2d cover and a ROM name? Otherwise, having a flow where you can see the spines is almost useless unless I have all boxcovers.

You might also try always_show_button=yes (just a guess.)

I think I found a fix for that issue. If you load from HBC then play a Gamecube game, then use the forwarder again, all is normal. At least it has been for me.

Hello all,

I want to be able to run Wii games, GameCube games, WiiWare and VC titles from a USB drive with very high compatibility.
I have a USB drive formated in FAT32 with 32k sectors. On there is a uneek+di nand that I can boot into with neek2o

Right now I can

Run Wiiflow from real nand and
1- Run Wii games (they are in .wbfs format on my USB drive)
---- The saves are created on the real nand
2- Run GameCube games using DIOS MIOS. (.iso format on the USB drive)
3- Run WiiWare and VC titles from the uneek nand on the USB drive.
---- Games like Majora's Mask don't run unless I select the start with neek2o option in which case on exit Wiiflow will be running from the uneek nand

In Wiiflow I can exit to neek2o to switch to Wiiflow running on uneek.
Like this I can
1- Run Wii games (they are in .wbfs format on my USB drive)
---- The saves are created on the uneek nand on the USB drive
2- Run GameCube games using DIOS MIOS. (I enabled the option in wiiflow.ini to always see the GameCube games)
3- Run WiiWare and VC titles from the uneek nand on the USB drive.
---- Games like Majora's Mask will run even if I don't select the launch with neek2o option.

I also have bootmii installed on boot2 and setup the Bootmii-Forwader-Loader-DWFA to boot directly in Wiiflow (running on real nand)

To have everything (including Majora's Mask) easily launchable in Wiiflow, I would like the Wii to boot directly to Wiiflow running on uneek. How do I do this? Are there any drawbacks in doing this compared to launching Wiiflow from the real nand?

I've only had my Wii for about two weeks. It's a launch Wii that I bought used. I learned a bunch of stuff since then but forgive me if I'm confusing u/s/neek/2o in this post! It took me a while to understand what emulated nands are, how they work and why I should care...

Thanks in advance!

When you get to the Neek2o system menu (either by exiting WiiFlow while it's running on UNEEK or by running the Neek2o channel or nSwitch app directly) there are options you can get to by pressing the (1) or (2) buttons and then I think it's (+) or (-) to change pages. One of those options is to have Neek2o always boot into a channel directly instead of the system menu. Assuming you have WiiFlow forwarder channel installed on your emuNAND, select THAT channel for that option and save the options.

Now all you have to do is put your Neek2o BootMii files in the /BootMii folder (you might have them already in a /bootmiineek folder or something like that ... just rename the folder in that case.) and BootMii will automatically send you to UNEEK when it boots which will automatically run the WiiFlow forwarder channel, leaving you in WiiFlow running in Neek2o mode.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did what you suggested and Wiiflow in neek2o mode starts automatically. Majora's Mask doesn't work. I get the spinning N64 cube spinning without end. Wii Games, Gamecube games, and other WiiWare/VC titles do work though.

Edit: Majora's mask DOES load but the N64 cube spins for about 3 minutes

One question I have is how to deactivate the neek2o autoboot channel. I don't know how to get to those options again since Wiiflo is always loading.

Quick note in regards to trailers... FML MAN!! I went all the way back to r100 of open wiiflow mod, then went back even further to Miigotu's r417a4 build. Kept getting the same horrible audio stutter/glitch. I tried to test WiiFlow 2.2 but I forgot it was only compatible with Fat32/WBFS drives so it won't read the games from my NTFS partition. I could always transfer a game to my FAT32 partition but I'm done for now. I'm actually kinda pissed off at this point :angry: cuz I've been collecting trailers for nuttin' lol!

This has been a longstanding issue it seems at least for me and alll I can think at this point is that the quality of the trailer has to be real shitty for WiiFlow to display it properly or the trailer function is obviously broken altogether. At this point maybe it should be removed cuz right now it's unusable as it stands, unless it's worth it for the devs to fix it. What do you guys think? Should the trailer feature be removed or is there a high request for it to be fixed/looked at? Maybe it's not even possible to fix at this point. There's already a ton of stuff going on taking plenty of mem as it is.

Can anyone confirm if they have trailers working and if so the size of the trailer. I don't have any small trailers to test.

REMOVE IT!
i CANNOT even get the banners to display WHEN USING FANART
i cant get banners to display when using fanart!

they are things which are really nice, when they work....but if its becomes a Useless feature, we are all better off focusing on...
game compatability? user configuration (custom button map)? i dont know,...maybe...

ALLOWING WIIFLOW TO WORK FROM any directory AS LONG AS WIIFLOW.INI IS IN THE SAME DIRECTORY AS BOOT.DOL.
i dunno what else to move on to....cause right now, no matter where boot.dol is, its hardcoded to read the ini from 'apps/wiiflow'...

God FOrbid, user have the option of using 2 DIFFERENT wiiflow installs, for ppl like me who actually want 2 seperate Source Menus(Wii/GC/WW) + (Emu/VC/HB)
and 2 different emunands (WW/VC). I mean why would a user want that? when you could just combine it all into one cluttered, confusing installation?
im being sarcastic, because Wiiflow is the BEST wii usb loader, but even CFG surpasses it in USER FRIENDLINESS.
thank you for wiiflow, because i use it daily, and my friends are impressed with emulators, lmao!

Wiiflow is the BEST wii usb loader, but even CFG surpasses it in USER FRIENDLINESS.
That depends on how you look at it...if USER friendly means that you can adjust about every thing in a loader then CFG is the one.
CFG has the rep. you can change anything, BUT...for an average user its can be hard to follow what every option does...
If USER friendly means the loader has a simple clear view (and simple to understand, scroll trough games en click &go)...then Wiiflow is your loader :D
That said, wiiflow can be hard to set up if you want all the bells and wistles.

Hey guys, I just finished setting upp Wiiflow-mod with emulators and stuff and it works great, however, I'm having some issues with my USB drive, some bad sectors I think, and that causes some covers to be messed up. My question, is it possible to specify another location then N:\WiiFlow\boxcovers\emulatorxxx\?

My ini files today.

SNES
Code:
magic=534e4553
coverColor=01a300
coverFolder=snes9xgx = which equals WiiFlow\boxcovers\snes9xgx\
fileTypes=.smc|.fig|.sfc|.swc|.zip|.7z
romDir=snes9xgx/roms
dolFile=snes9xgx-mod11.dol
bannerSound=SNES.ogg
displayname=SNES9xGX
consoleCoverID=nintendo
arguments={device}:/{path}|{name}|{loader}

NES
Code:
magic=46434555
coverColor=ff0000
coverFolder=fceugx = which equals WiiFlow\boxcovers\fceugx\
fileTypes=.nes|.fds|.nsf|.unf|.nez|.unif|.zip|.7z
romDir=fceugx/roms
dolFile=fceugx-mod11.dol
bannerSound=nes.ogg
displayname=FCEUltraGX
consoleCoverID=nintendo
arguments={device}:/{path}|{name}|{loader}

I would to put the covers in N:\fceugx\covers instead, is that possible, if so, how would the path look in the ini file?

I know the best thing to do is to but a new drive, but I can't really afford it right now.

Cheers!

you can modify the whole boxcovers path in your wiiflow.ini, also fucked up covers can occur because of wrong sized images, make sure they are under 1900x1900 pixels and the best thing would be if you can divide them with 4, so resize could fix it already. Also may delete the existing cache folder (wiiflow/cache/youremu) and do a checkdisk scan with windows, then let wiiflow reload the covers.
@iancer:
uhm for your fanart stuff, you need to edit the fanart ini to set it in the background or just remove your fanart if you have a problem with it, fanart is 100% optional and not included into a default wiiflow installation, so dont complain about your own faults. Wiiflow is easy as hell, just copying over the zip contents on sd, using channel installer for forwarders thats it, you're ready to go with max game compatility, no need to setup anything else if you just wanna play games, whats not user friendly there?

make sure they are under 1900x1900 pixels
So the max pixel resolution has been upped from 1090x680?

On a another note, I noticed that if I try to combine views with two plugins whose directories reside on different paths (nes on sd, ps1 on usb) one takes priority and the other is not show. Is there any hope of fixing this?

Thanks for the quick reply!

I put em in another folder and changed to path in wiiflow.ini just like you said, and it's working great now, I know it's my disk acting up, errors pop up every now and then, I guess it's just a matter of time before it goes :/

The only thing that's not working right now is I can't change the colour of the spine, I've put 000000 on SNES and ffffff on NES but Wiiflow still shows the default, which is green and red?

Oh, I can't save either, not in fceugx or snes9xgx, I get an error stating "error opening directory", and I can't seem to find where the default should be or where I can change it?

Cheers!
