Hello. I have a question. My Wii is NTSC, and a friend of mine just transferred me two games: one is NTSC-J and one is PAL. I have Priiloader with the "Region Free EVERYTHING" hack enabled. So, will I be able to play those games with no risk of bricking or is there something else I should do to play them? Thanks in advance.
As long as you also have disc updates blocked in priiloader there's no problems.

Now, those re only necessary if you're loading the games through the disc channel. if you load them through a backup loader there's no problem either way.

Yeah, I'm using a loader. So, no problem them? Can I play right away, with no extra step? Thank you.

Well, I tried the NTSC-J one, and had no problems. The PAL, on the other hand, didn't work. The screen was "moving", looked gray, and black bars appeared.
Yeah, that's what a NTSC TV shows when it gets a PAL signal. you have to force the video mode to NTSC in the options.

So lately I've been trying to get some old N64 games running on my Wii to show some friends of mine what I spent all of my youth on. I found out Wii64 is the best and only emulator for Wii around right? I'm using the modification of it now, Not64, and I was just wondering if the scene behind it is still active? Because some games don't run perfect (obviously) and I was wondering if there will still be updates to the emulator and if they are frequent and do they fix a lot each update?

Got my Wii running the Homebrew Browser, but when I want to install an App it doesn't appear on the browser.

I have WAD manager and USB loader gx on the SD card. Wad manager shows up, but USB loader gx doesn't.

I'm also having a lot of trouble with DIOS MIOS.

Other info:
Wii 3.4u
Used letterbomb hack (worked.)
Haven't installled any cIOS or any other crap
Thinking about doing the whole entire thing again which sounds like a good idea.

Also; youtube videos aren't much help. Different info and it's all confusing.

Mind giving me a step by step tutorial? (I'm a complete newb.)

Use this.
It's the safest easiest most complete way to get your Wii up to date and softmodded.
Follow it's personalized generated guide.

P.s. you need to be on windows.

I'm having issues with the homebrew browser.

I've just modded my wii using modmii and installed the darkred theme. Everything went perfectly as stated by the custom generated guide.

I then went here https://www.sites.google.com/site/completesg/how-to-use/hbb, and followed the instructions and downloaded the homebrew browser v 0.3.6 and extracted it to the apps folder of my SD card.

I entered the HBC as usual, ran the installer, and it mentioned an update (0.3.9) was found. I installed that, and it seems to have installed properly, but then something wrong happened, and a stack dump occurred. I should mention that before the stack dump, it downloaded (automatically) some image files and then extracted them, which is where the error occurred.

What went wrong? Is HBB V0.3.9 glitched at the moment? I'm running IOS58 for my HBC as recommended.

Edit: I checked some youtube guides and noticed someone encountered the same (or at least a very similar error), but was apparently using a newer wii. My wii is a launch wii running 4.3U.

EDIT 2: NVM. After the code dump, I tried again. I got some weird Black and white strips running down the screen, but the homebrew browser loaded and functioned properly. Though not all images loaded :/

Still, it works, so w/e

Good morning everyone

i am having some trouble installing cios 202. i apparently need it for usb support so i can run n64 and psx games off of a usb drive opposed to my small 2gb SD card (if this isnt true then how exactly do i do it?)

anyway ive tried following a few guides and havent succeeded yet. i have the hermes 5.1 app on HBC. ive downloaded NUSD and got all the IOSs ive been told to get from this guide. i made the "ios" folder and put my downloaded IOSs into it using the offline install and put it into the root of the sd card for Hermes to find and install but everytime i try it it says "hash bad" (btw ive successfully installed ios249 and used that for the install). i also try using the online install and it doesnt work either

any advice?thanks in advance

EDIT - nvm i figured it out. i installed ios236 and used that to install ios 202. my usb also can be used to play games now

Uhhh hello =D i have a few problems with my wii and i would like some answers =3

Okay problem N.1...
My wii Is FULLY hacked ( usb loader priiloader bootmii homebrew Dios mios lite etc....)
So the problem actually downgraded it from 4.3E to 4.1E without any wii games and without letter bomb...
Because when i upgraded it from 4.2E to 4.3E the botmii survived somehow and i managed to downgrade it
and it bricked.... well that is not the case now it works fine but i have a problem.... The VC channels don't work...
I wanted to install "LoZ: Majoras Mask" it installs perfectly but when i open it the wii system just restarts...
The same goes for "Zombie Panic in Wonderland"... Do i miss some ios?

Problem N.2
I had my wii mood chipped... but now i am using a usb drive... My cd drive got wasted over time and i couldn't use DML to play
GC games... so i went to a nearby repair service paid 30$ to change the cd drive... Now the games that are on the CDs don't work
on it no more... more strange is that from the 50 games that i had the CD drive discovered only 1 (and i hated that game -.-)...
So any help to fix this...

And finally not a problem but a question:
I went back playing SA2B ( Sonic Adventure 2 Battle...) since my old disc was so scratched it was barely playable i installed the game via Usb Loader GX to the SD root... After that the disc became unusable (it died =( ) anyways... I wonder HOW can i use
Cheats via DML? I really want to use it for only 1 thing (to hack me a gold chao) if it is makable please explain how

Thanks for any answers ^w^

Okay problem N.1...
I'd get ModMii and either
do the syscheck log update so it can see and download all IOS you're missing or are old
OR
just have it download all active IOS's and extra protection from download page 1
and then just install them all with a WAD manager.

That would help if it's either a problem of a missing IOS or an IOS rejecting a fakesigned VC game

Not sure what to say about your other issues, though. The last question, I don't do much with cheats but I do know that a lot of USB Loaders have a cheat option that automates downloading and applying cheats. You might have to turn a cheat option on for the game to get it to work, though.

ULTRA NOOB QUESTION AHEAD!!!

So, I've never owned a Wii in my life. Since the advent of the Wii U, Wii's are rather quite cheap now. I am thinking of picking one up but I will eventually want to hack it (straight away usually). I'm gonna be using a component to HDMI adaptor (I know the Wii does not do HD, I have no other choice).

Anyway... How do I go about 'hacking' the console to run homebrew stuff and ... also running ... um ... 'backups' (OMG, PLZ NO BAN!) off a flash drive/HDD? Or must I burn these 'backups' to a DVD?

Thanks for any replies!

loading from a SD or USB drive is the way to go usually. Unless you get a really old Wii it most likely will simply be incapable of reading the DVD-R disk format (and even older ones are unable to read pretty much any OTHER burnt formats.)

Your first step, simplest answer is to run ModMii for Windows. It'll ask you a few questions about the Wii and then download automatically EVERYTHING you need to FULLY hack your Wii (or less hacked if you told it to, all up to you, just answer the questions :) ) and generate a very comprehensive step by step guide on what to do with it once it's done. It's very simple to understand and if you still don't get it, it usually links to youtube videos of how to do a lot of the steps so you can't go wrong.

There are several backup loader apps to choose from. The 4 that are most up to date and are still being updated are compared here
http://gbatemp.net/threads/backup-loaders.333364/
ModMii will suggest CFG and give WiiFlow as a second alternative but you can choose for yourself.

Thanks. I'm trying it out right now.
If I somehow goof on this, then I'm certainly a newb.
- EDIT -
Okay, so I didn't totally goof, but I came across a new problem with the DIOS MIOS and Configurational USB Loader (I think that's what it's called?)
Apparently it installed my games (Wind Waker), but then when I launch the game it takes me to the DIOS MIOS screen and boots the Gamecube disk in the Wii (Luigis' Mansion).
Even with Wii Flow. I launch the game, and then it just sits on a black screen.
Any ideas? I don't have iOS 245, 246, 247, and 248 by the way. Nor do I have this NAND.
Are they required to boot/ launch these installed games?

USBLoaderGX shouldn't install the game on the root of the SD card, unless you specifically changed the "GameCube Main Path" or the "GameCube SD path" in USBLoaderGX settings.

The default folder is SD/games/ or USB/games/

When you install a new game, it's copied into:
SD/games/Game name/game.iso
SD/games/Game name/disc2.iso
or
USB/games/Game name/game.iso
USB/games/Game name/disc2.iso

Once you installed the Gamecube Game with USBLoaderGX, it should appear in your main screen (don't forget to select GameCube origin in the 4th toolbar icon).
Then, load the "Game window" in USBLoaderGX by selecting the game. and before selecting "Start" then select "Settings".
Now go to
- Ocarina > load the cheat list (if available) > select the code you want to enable > Press "Create cheat" to create the cheat file.
- Game Settings > Ocarina : Enable if you want to load the cheat file you created in the Ocarina menu.

Attention, be sure to use the latest beta (r1211). If you use an old version of the loader you may have incompatibility with DM(L).

That means the game is not from your region (NTSC vs PAL) you usually just need to go into the settings and change the video mode.
