An independent British film is being released via a digital games console platform, rather than through the cinema or DVDs, for the first time.
Pulp, a comedy about a struggling comic book publisher recruited by the police to bust a crime syndicate, will be available to Xbox 360 Live subscribers.

Looks interesting, I hope they push this idea multiplatform or will M$ try o monopolise movies too :)
Whetever this brings I do feel that the next xbox console will attempt to feature rich in multimedia, making the next step towards us losing the "games Console" title in favour of a "multimedia station" etc etc.

God that text is so hidden.

Anyways, it'd be nice if Netflix did something like this, day one stuff, I'd be willing to pay a little bit more. Then again, I don't even pay to use it in the first place (yay for friends!)

Interesting move. I doubt it would catch on too hard for US films (too much stuff worded around cinemas) but others I can see it working for.

This said I would probably not even note the passing of the idea of the cinema as point of first release, to become a public viewing house as it were, at this point.

Cool idea, but I would still prefer something along the lines of Netflix. The service is already useable on most platforms (tablets, phones, computers, game consoles, etc) and is dedicated for the streaming and distribution of content.

I actually love going to the theater. It's just so much better imo. I mean when I saw Skyfall and Wreck it Ralph in 3D, it was awesome!
