Yeah im definitely in favor of a pop up regarding the stickies and rules.No. As stated, there's idiots here with over a thousand posts... and on the other hand we sometimes get people in here that haven't joined yet and thus have 0-5 posts, but have plenty to contribute.
We need to make people aware of the stickies. I seriously suggest some sort of popup or whatever like other forums do, that pop up certain info/rules when you first visit a forum, and you need to agree to read them before the notice goes away. Then if somebody posts shit anyways, it can be reported and wiped/deleted without any time spent giving the benefit of the doubt.

(...). I think that making them unable to post until they agree that they're warned is the proper thing to do. (...)
That's just fine, because once WE KNOW that they've been warned, their threads/posts can be wiped on sight without a warning needed (since we KNOW they were already given a warning). Hell, if the mods feel it's needed (like during pokefloods) they might hand out tempbans (again, since the people were warned right beforehand and did it anyways). They would just roll to the bottom of the page were is the button to agree to whatever is written above and yeah ...like we always do with disclaimers
Kinda like fight club. But they would have to type the rulesSites like what.cd make you get through an 'interview', in which you're asked technical questions about music and music equipment.
Obviously none of the staff should sit around to interview people, however, it'd be useful if users had to answer a series of questions about the rules/3DS hacking.
They could easily find out all the info, and once they answer the questions, they'll at least be knowledgeable on the rules, and ready to post.
Said questions would only be asked once, of course.
Watch as they bump their threads and have to go to page 8 to find any relevent or usefull topics? No way.Or we could just ignore them and let them post in ignorance?

That keeps the shit threads out (well, on a fast-track rather) while still allowing real stuff to be posted, regardless of post limits.
We have on the plans a per-section "license agreement" add-on, where you need to read that section's own rules, accept them and only THEN you can start posting.No. As stated, there's idiots here with over a thousand posts... and on the other hand we sometimes get people in here that haven't joined yet and thus have 0-5 posts, but have plenty to contribute.

Great news, it was just coming to the point where something needed to be done, its great to see something is in the works. We have on the plans a per-section "license agreement" add-on, where you need to read that section's own rules, accept them and only THEN you can start posting.
I dunno how work's progressing on that, but it has been suggested by myself when the forum was still down for maintenance, and the idea was accepted with enthusiasm from the rest of the staff too.
So it's gonna happen, as for the when I dunno.
