hey.. i know its a bit late but what do you guys think? will it ever release??? how do you think its gonna be and stuff.. just wondering... im psyched...

Well... There were 8 years between the original R/B/Y, and Fire Red/Leaf Green. Also, there were 10 years between G/S/C and its rereleases. So... with R/S/E id say we were in for a remake in about 2 or 3 years.

Considering the fact that the other pokemon games were remade, I wouldn't be shocked to see a remake for R/S/E (Well most likely just R/S since they never remake the third game) Honestly I will be pumped when they remake the games, R/S were my favorite pokemon games!

Doesn't feel like its warranted to me. If Ruby and Saphire can get remade, does that mean Red and Blue/Green can get remade again? After all their remakes are on par with Ruby and Saphire (same system, same graphics, same engine). At a certain point, remakes need to stop. The GBA generation barely looks outdated compared to Diamond and Pearl, and I don't think we need remakes of those either.

If however Nintendo wanted to release them for the 3DS virtual console with some sort of new feature built in so you can trade the pokemon you get in those games to the DS/future 3DS pokemon games you have in your system, then I would be all for that.

Usually remakes (and I mean actual remakes, no HD ports) come out when there's no systems sold now that play the original.

In the case of G/S/C, the gameboy line hasn't been sold in ages.

In the case of R/S/E, you still have the DS Lite for a bit more.
We did have a remake for Red/Green on GBA (not a simple HD remaster).

If Ruby and Sapphire remake comes out, it will probably be still DS game based on Black and White 2.

I bet Nintendo will release a R/S remake when they already released a 3DS pokémon.
I also bet that the 6th gen will have very innovative graphics, and will surprise a lot of pokémon fans.
I believe that the pokedéx 3D and pokedéx 3D Pro were just released to have their pokémon models used on a 3DS pokémon

Before we get the next main pokemon game we will get the R/S remake and they will be for 3DS

I don't know if this will really happen,
or if R/S remake will be the first 3DS pokémon,
but we probably won't see a release pokémon of the main series so soon.
B/W 2 were for DS and were released this year.
The next pokémon will probably come in 2 or 3 years

Honestly speaking, I would like one. Well all the points for and against them have already been presented time and time again for quite a while now (on other sites which kinda got a lil out of hand thus bringing the thread to be locked but I digress). There was always a "need vs want" argument to this. We don't NEED it because we can migrate our Hoenn slaves Pokemon via Pal Park and the like. But it would be nice to see a revamp like how GSC did.

Well, having said that, I suppose I could wait a year or two more after Gen 6 so they can pack more cool features in because let's not kid ourselves, there really isn't much to offer as a DS game.

I honestly do not understand the need for Pokemon remakes.
Lets say Pokemon Gold/Silver, it is incompatible with Gen IV in any way. How can you obtain the other regional Pokemon if you don't remake the games?

I hate remakes for one thing: people will ALWAYS complain about that lack of nostalgia.

You just place them in the next Pokemon game?
Oh hoho. Pokemon has no more originality in Pokemon designs so that they have to reuse them over and over again. That's what most of them will say.

But seriously, there is no way to fully satisfy the crowd.

In my opinion, they will not be innovative graphics, but they will use 3D models just like Prof. Layton, Phoenix Wright and the 999 sequel have done, from 2D to 3D.

I seriously doubt they'll remake R/S.

It was my impression that they did FireRed/Leafgreen and HG/SS to make those generations of pokemon more easily obtainable in the DS titles; something that isn't necessary for the 3rd gen games.

I personally hope they DON'T do remakes of these. I rather enjoy the 3rd gen games as they are, and I'd rather them not take the time to remake them when they could be working on other things.

I DO hope they'll eventually remake Yellow though, just for the novelty of its concept. That would make for a GREAT 3DS title!
