Hacking Question about Flash (complicated)

Hey everyone,

a long while ago i bought a xbox with an NME Chip that died due to RRoD. After that i bought one with a firmware flash but i cant remember which one it was. (i guess iXtreme)

Well, long story short, i didnt play the box for about half a year now and thought i might as well sell it which i did.. Now i got a message from the buyer that the flash isnt woring anymore which leads me to 2 questions.

1. Which Flash was it that you need to keep the eject button pressed when booting to play backups? Could it be Ixtreme? Because thats how my Flash worked.

2. The last thing i played with the Box was silent Hill downpour (original) which forced me to do an update. Could it be that that update killed my flash?

A somewhat recent firmware update flashes the drive to stock removing it so that probably did it. So just flash it to Lt+ 3.0.

To enlighten Rasas post.

Dash 13146 is the one responsible for reflashing the DVD drive.
If you're lucky enough not to got flagged and still can access Live, it's highly recommended to update your DVD drive to LT+ 3.0.

This can be done with Jungleflasher and appropriate hardware.
(X360 USBPro, Via PCI Sata, internal compatible sata chipset, a Connectivity kit like the CK3i or your 360 as a power source and depending on your drive, a Probe 3

If you're already banned and your dashboard is LOWER or equal to 14719 then you might consider RGHing.

Basically RGHing is the same as jTAGging.
Allows for games to be executed on the internal drive, XBLArcade, XBLindie, Xbox 1 games homebrew etc etc.

Seeing that you sold it won't matter much but you can at least say this to the person you sold it to.




Playing backups by pressing the Eject button is pre iXtreme 1.4 iirc.
It's a really old firmware atleast ;p

Your drive was flashed. If you can flash it yourself, do it for him, or I guess if you can't say I'm sorry???

If OP still has the DVD key then it's easy enough to flash.

It also depends on his DVD drive.
If it's a Hitachi or Sammy or Benq then the only thing that should be done is hook it up to a SATA port and create a new firmware.

when i bought the flashed box the shop sent me a cd with original firmware and flash firmware on it. Is that the drive key your talking about?
(Luckily the guy i sold it too can flash boxes by himself and said it was no big thing, since it was a simple mistake.)

Yes that would be the Key, problem is keys taken before the big update aren't recommended for use as they were taken from the old firmware, its best to grab the keys again after the update.

It doesn't really matter since you can construct a new stock firmware.

Hacked or original firmware, as long as it contains your DVD key then it's good.
