EZ-Flash Air DOA?

So, my replacement finally came in. I updated to the newest kernel/firmware and filled the NOR to the brim. So far so good. I'll let you know if anything changes. They were even nice enough to include a SD USB adapter this time. While I appreciate the gesture, I won't be using it lol. I bought a nice aluminum one from Acer because I was sick of the cheap ones constantly corrupting files.

Hey, I've been experiencing pretty much the same issues you've described here lately. Which Kernel are you using in the replacement Air? I'm assuming it still works with no issues after these couple weeks? I'm considering sending mine back too for a replacement.
Such a bummer because I was convinced mine was fine, but just like your case, it's been getting worse and worse every time I've written to the NORFLASH, almost to a point where it's almost unable to properly write a game anymore. Mine is at FW 3/Kernel 1.04.

Yeah, it's still going strong. I've been trying to use it as much as possible to be sure, and no apparent problems so far. It came with 1.00 and I updated right away to the newest kernel and firmware. So, the same version as you. If you're having the same problems, definitely send it back. It's only going to get worse. I wish I knew exactly what was failing, but for it to continue to degrade like it was, it had to be something pretty catastrophic. You would think it was a bad NOR chip, but it started failing to write the firmware properly. I was getting graphical glitches in the UI. I would think it stores the firmware on a separate chip. Perhaps that was bad? Corrupted firmware would probably cause all sorts of havoc, including bad writes to NOR. Perhaps the logic chip (FPGA?)? Whatever was going bad seemed to interface with pretty much all of the components. I suppose it could even be something as simple as a bad solder or improper current. In hindsight, I wish I would have checked everything for continuity. Especially now that I know there are others with the same symptoms. Very curious.

Thank you! I'm quite busy this month but by november I should be able to ask for a replacement. Hope that new one works as intended...

What's the deal with using NOR (a flash chip that will eventually wear out) over using some temporary RAM chip instead? RAM is significantly faster too I believe, if all you want is to launch a game and not have it remember that game.

Ez-flash Air doesn't have Ram only Nor flash .i.e 120 mb

EZ-Flash products aren't great and there is no customer support at all. You've to fix their products yourself or if you're lucky you get a refund from a reseller. My Omega (non DE) works great in general but the RTC is running to fast. My Jr. is a hit or miss for every game. Better inversting in everdrive products.
The new gba pro is the way to go. It's only lacking on rumble support but it doesn't bother me at all.

Yes, you can load some DS games from slot 2 on a DS or DS Lite. (Never really saw a point to it though)
Well, I do know about PassMe, but the Ez-Flash Air doesn't let you load them (right?), unless it's something related to link mode. The other PassMe flashcart you can still buy new is the Supercard (and Superchis)

EZ-Flash AIR doesn't support Passme and NOR size wouldn't matter for that anyways as DS games are always streamed from the SD card (as long as they don't use things like GBFS but that's a homebrew thing).
