The war on piracy continues. But why focus on android? Android offers the option for non market app install, it almost just beckons piracy.
Apple apps get pirated through jailbroken idevices CONSTANTLY why not go after the apple sites? Im surprised apple has not tried to enforce an investigation into that.

they'll find a seizure banner

Darn, I thought it'd be one of those multicolored flashing images that make you pass out.

I have never heard of any of these sites, even though I'm quite enveloped in the Android App world.

Huh. I've never even heard of these sites, and I've been using alternative download methods for a lot of my apps for a couple years now. Were these guys hosting the apps on their own server rather than links to Mediafire or something?

any other os usually allows you to install anything you want, does that always beckon piracy?
Oh i didnt know many other OS's did somthing like that. So far the only OS i have had experience with that offeres nonmarket install is android.

You've never used Windows, Mac OS(X), or Linux of any sort?

I'm surprised they haven't done something similar to *certain Cydia repos* .

These servers were not located in the US or even N.A, The DoJ likes to blowjob and bribe any country to get what they want *looks at rapsheet of most seizures in the past 6 months* ..I assume that this is Google getting pissed off because they are not getting a cut of apps sold from the Play Store (you don't think that developers get ALL the money they make in app sales do you??)

iPad/iPod, Wii, PS3, 360, etc.
With those, outside of hacking, you can't just load up any free or pirated app/disc.

oh believe me...in the hayday of android first being released....app planet was the MERCEDES of getting any app free. then it went under permanent hiatus (kinda like powerpuff girls), and then came back, for a short period. But their return was like like an Olympic champion from retirement. washed up. and quickly replaced. SnappzMarket was a rising superpower that filled the niche that appplanet left. they had a very close user base to support. And even had TinyChats that featured live voice chat from the team! They got taken down right after their 3.0 app was developing and they were getting video advertisements / download. Which is what I think got them. They stuck their neck out to commercialism too much, and got on the radar.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
