So if you've seen my recent signature you will know me as that cool dude who plays video games on the internet. A friend of mine recently found out that I've never played Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask and challenged me to stream them blind. I obliged, but in the form of a Legend of Zelda marathon. From tonight until Sunday I am going to attempt to beat as many of the original Zelda games as possible. The original and Link to the Past will not be blind, but 2, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask will be. I've done marathons before, and I know how stressful they can be. If I have any time remaining I will stream Twilight Princess until I pass out. I will be taking short breaks for showering, getting food/drinks, etc. but not often and not for long periods of time. If this goes well, I might even stream Skyward Sword sometime next week

So please feel free to come and join me on my journey through Hyrule. I'm sure we will have lots of ups and downs, good times and bad, but hopefully fun times for all. Feel free to interact using the chat, I enjoy talking to viewers. Also feel free to ask any questions in this thread (but I won't be able to keep up with it whilst streaming)!

My start time will be sometime in the next half hour (hopefully within the next 10 minutes). Come hang out and watch some Zelda!

Permission for the thread from ProtoKun7 if this counts as advertising.

Just to clarify, a blind run means I've never played it before, that's all! Don't suggest I play a game blindfolded, it didn't work out too well with Dark Souls :P.

blind, as ... playing without looking at the screen?
I don't understand.
maybe it means the difference between streaming "only the screen" (capture card) and "your room with you visible on screen" (camera)

A blind run is when you're playing a game you've never played before, I guess I should clarify that.

I think he means blind as with no previous experience with them. Like a "blind date" means going on a date with someone you know nothing about.

ahh, thanks both of you :)
that makes more sense.

Good luck on Zelda 2 then ;)
It's quite hard now (going back to old games is harder than playing them 20 years ago for the first time x__x)
Zelda 2 had a lot of people not liking it, (me included), but after playing it you learn to love it!
It also has NewGame+ (but no changes to the quest, you just continue learning things you didn't have time to find on the previous party)

Will you play Zelda1 newGame+ too?

edit:
ah, it require registration to connect to the chat. :(

Edit2:
My "link to the past" record is 100% in 4h10 (only one death, in ice dungeon  )

that's not the correct way to first dungeon !
You said Zelda1 wasn't blind, but it's like it is, you forgot everything :P

it's near the start !

up, left, left , up, right, right up, and left :)
or
right, up, up, up, up, left

ahh, at least you find first dungeon
buuuut, you need arrows! (or else it will use 1 rupee per shoot)

There's lot of hidden items all over the overworld (usually need a bomb, or the candle to burn the bushes)

If you play the NewGame+ too, here some advices:
- Always bring at least 150Rupee in dungeons
- Try going through walls (no bomb, just pass through them after trying walking for 2 seconds in the wall direction and you'll pass through)
- stay between doors to be in safe zone.

While playing it 20 years ago, I made myself a map for both new game and newGame+ world map, with all dungeon maps of first party too.

That seems fun, your gonna have a hell of a time with OoT and MM. When I was younger I remember MM having quite the learning curve.

seeing how he is doing with Zelda 1, he will have a hell of time with Zelda 2
edit: ok, in fact he is doing not so bad. (he just forget to try pushing blocks when he is stuck in a room)

OoT and MM are "all public" and was easier than previous one.

Good luck Law.

edit:
You are lost in dungeon3.
You need to kill these Darknut (orange soldiers) on the far left of the dungeon to open the bottom door.

You can have the second sword (white sword) now that you have 5 hearts.
It's left of the 5th dungeon.

from dungeon1 place: right, up, left, up, right, right, right, up !

You know, it just hit me; Zelda has a really, really long legend. Even Homer would be motioning to wrap it up by this point.

Anyway, this sounds like quite an undertaking. Good luck, and Godspeed.

Zelda 2 is really freaking hard. I pass all 6 palace but Great Palace, oh god, everything in there is so frigging hard! So I gave up and stop playing because I have anger manager with that game.
