Hello. I have a R4i Gold Plus (Deluxe Edition) and I haven't had many issues with it at all besides
the fact that I can't connect to WiFi In-Game on any of my ROMs. I am using my R4i Gold Plus on a 3DS.
Its able to connect to my WiFi and go to the eShop, Netflix, Swapnote, etc.
I can even connect to my connection in the 3DS internet settings that take me to the regular DS internet settings.
But when I try to connect in a game it gives me a error saying it cant connect to the IP Address.
So you see where my frustration lies. Does anybody know how to get it to work properly for me?
Like I said I know it isn't my WiFi connection itself, it has to be my R4i Gold Plus.

Which brings me to my second question. Is there an alternative firmware that I can use besides the stock firmware this card takes?
I know already that Wood R4 does not support this card. But does anything else?
I've messed with retrogamefans firmware but I couldnt do anything with it but copy the extinfo.dat and infolib.dat from it to the stock firmware.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

What security does you router use? DS Games can only go online with no or WEP security and nothing else.
The security is WEP 64 bit. Like I had previously said, I know its not my connection because when I try and test my wifi settings through just my 3DS I can connect in both 3ds mode and DS mode. It only doesn't work when I'm trying to connect playing a ROM with my R4i Gold Plus.

Which game? Could be a bad ROM or your card may not like Wifi, though I don't think that's the issue.

Well, I've tested the WiFi on multiple ROMs, and neither game has had any success. I don't think its a bad ROM. So far I've tested Mario Kart DS, basically all the Pokemon games (not Ranger or Conquest or Mystery Dungeon), Phantasy Star 0. Will test some more but I don't think any will work.

Configure WFC settings via GAME not the console settings and check if rom's wifi feature is ON.
If you still can't connect, check ERROR number at nintendo support something something I suppose! I SUPPOSE YAY!

I have done both and there is no setting to see if the ROMs WiFi feature is on. My only ROM settings are:

Select a save type
Link with GBA
Rumble Strength
Choose Save Slot
Show Icon

I tested Diddy Kong Racing DS and was able to connect to the WiFi but that is completely useless to me because nobody plays that game online LOL.

EDIT: *facepalm* I think I have found my problem. Apparently the little green swirly arrows next to your ROM icon and name is the WiFi On/Off switch.
Thanks for telling me that in the instruction manual I was never given with my Flashcart! :D Seriously, how in the hell does 2 swirly green arrows equal WiFi?
