LL is Japan version
XL is English version.

while we in the US and some other countries use XL for extra large for one size larger then larger, other countries use Large Large for one sizer larger than large. Tagging the bigger size 3DS and DS as stores would clothing is a unfunny pun.

3DS XL is a larger 3DS ( for north american and european union markets and most parts of the world.

3DS LL is a larger 3DS ( for japanese market )

They are the same thing.

Japan uses the term LL (Large Large, meaning one size bigger than large)

Other regions use XL (Xtra-Large)
