Or politely ask tueidj if he would make it free software. So others can learn from his amazing work and / or contributing to it like the libntfs that he cant use in his closed source version. I had asked him privately about this but got no response.
And to make it clear I am not asking for something for nothing. I think many of us would be happy to donate money to him for all his hard work and discovery.

unfortunately, on his first post about this subject, http://gbatemp.net/topic/322284-devolution/ he specifically said
tueidj said:
WHO: Me alone. This is a solo project and everything is written from scratch; no "borrowed" code or even any use of libogc. This might change in the future when I want a bluetooth stack. Though the point is this has nothing to do with any other project (my past work or anyone else's) and no, there is no GPL code used so don't bother trying to demand to see the source.
so I think that explains the no response. It would be nice if that changed but the most he said was that if he had time (and he couldn't promise that he would) he would write up something about all the technical aspects of how he did it in a sort of blog format for those who were interested.

People really need to stop bitching about 4GB limits in FAT32 for Wii games; the files are automatically split/compressed and is less susceptible to file fragmentation. NTFS is useless for gamecube ISO images since they never exceed 1.35GB. NTFS isn't supported with all homebrew anyway, so is WBFS. Now that's a file system that's more useless than Internet Explorer.

I will not mention format debates from here on out. *End rant*

If people want NTFS in Devolution, they should do it their f****ng selves.

Honestly, I say just leave it be at this point. The people who are bitching about Devolution not having NTFS support aren't gonna have their minds changed by us saying that NTFS is useless in this application/FAT32 is better/more compatible all around. Let em think what they want to.

Bottom line is that Devolution won't have NTFS support because tueidj says so because it's his closed-source project. It's his to do what he wants with it, and if a community member doesn't like a certain aspect or function (or lack thereof) then they can just decide to not use it. *shrug*

Me, personally, I've never seen a need to format an external hard drive as NTFS. All of my externals, whether it's my Wii or my server backup drive, are FAT32; every single internal I use is NTFS however because I only use Windows and for that sole reason it's more convenient because every PC in my house is a Windows one, and my internal drives typically stay inside my rig. *shrug* :P

Who bitched about it? You asked why anyone would want to use any other format than FAT32 and Shano56 answered your question. The only reason why a discussion started was that Anon10W1z decided to start arguing over the merits of FAT32 and NTFS.

I'm talking about now, not the past month.

It IS free software. Doesn't mean he wants to open source it.

Ummmm... not sure why people get so worked up about NTFS. As for the suggestion that people should add their own NTFS support to Devolution, I'm not sure how that's supposed to happen when the software is closed source. Of course.... there's little need to worry about any of this now because there is no release and may not be for weeks or months....

Yeah, I don't imagine this is a competition in any sense. They're two projects with overlapping features and all, but it's not a race to see who gets the most followers or anything.

I'm sure the wheel would work just fine, it seems like a standard GC controller, which Devolution supports. Unless you're suggesting using a Wii remote as a replacement for it or something like that, in which case you'll probably have to wait until later versions, seeing as wii remote support is not going to be included in the first version.

As for the GBA connectivity, again I'd assume it'd work fine seeing as it connects to standard GC controller ports. (Do both the wheel and the GBA connectivity not work already through the official GC game loading mechanisms?)

If you're suggesting using a DS in place of a GBA, pretty sure that won't happen. You'd need to be running some sort of homebrew code on the DS, while in GBA mode, and have access to WiFi (which isn't there in GBA mode) to be able to connect to the Wii.
