Transfer Hogwarts Legacy PC save to Switch

Start the game on Switch, then make backup in JKSV, after that transfer save files from PC to Installed games folder with game name (only files with same names as in the folder), then delete .sav in file name (e.g. HL-00-10.sav to HL-00-10 only) and start the game again. Shouid bring you to last save in og game, and it also worked in one case with transfer of HL-00-10 only

Hello,

I've tried to do this but every time I attempt to transfer the saves (checkpoint, jksv, dbi) I get an error from the actual save transfer tools. I have done the remove ".sav" from the files. I have no problems transferring over the og switch save back. When I use dbi though, I can successfully transfer one part of the pc save but it shows 0 kb and disappears when I close dbi. Could it be that my pc Hogwarts save is 12mb? Is there a limit to file sizes for save transfers?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
 
Not conpletely unrelated question; if saves are interchangable between platforms, then why can't I use my switch save with save editors? (tried, didn't work)

I have tried too, using the renaming files process, and no success as well. If anyone figures it out would be nice. Or, maybe, port an editor for the switch version.
 
i'm unsure why he said it worked, the save files are in it's raw form are not compatible or interchangeable.

the metadata is (it'll show up) but you'll be unable to load the actual save.

This method was in description for the torrent of the game on Rutracker (torrent site), I tried it and it worked perfectly for me, as it did for some people who downloaded game.

Thank you for sharing your source. The save files you transferred from PC to Switch are complete ones? If they are, would you share them?

I mean…I’m honestly only trying to transfer in order to have the Twitch Drops exclusive items within a Switch save, and then maybe try to save edit my original one with HxD.

Well, here's the tea. I have two files: the complete one and another half way to 2nd trial. I decided to continue 2nd file on switch, modified everything in HLSE(save editor), because cheats weren't made yet, and transfered it using the method, it went perfectly
I didn't want to tranfer the OG save(cause it's OG story on PC, let it remain there), but because a lot of you can't transfer, I decided to transfer it today, and it failed too.
My guess, that the main quest line or OWLs locks the info in file, and it can't be loaded on Switch. And maybe some items in 100% PC versions are exclusives and can't be read by Switch (not a specialist, we need khuong or someone else who knew the code to confirm this, howewer Silver dragon-eyed spectacles, Urchin hat, Carmine lightning bolt scarf and Lilac ensemble are in the game if you unlock all gears in HLSE before transer).
To be completly confident before answer you I made transfer of 2nd file once again and create the new one in Prologue part (blank). 3rd file can be modified in save editor (can not put any items tho, but can unlock all gears, all talents and all spells before exiting your dorm room). Both tranfers went good (do not forget to do the backup in JKSV). Maybe minor detail, but try to get the same character name. And I'm very sorry, that you can not transfer your full experience (as I said, me neither), but, I guess, that journey is already over, time for a new one. You can take the file and put anything you want in editor and beging again in this beautiful not-so-open world:)
00 is with progress, 02 is Prologue only. If someone want to start from the Prologue - use the exe editor first, then HLSE. Links will be down below, because forum thinks I'm a bot)

The ps4 version we had problem sharing saves you would need both profile save and save as they are both linked. I don't know if this will work but i looked at saves uploaded above and modded what people who have save wizard and ps4 version of game. this should unpack your save so you have a sqlite file. you then open sqlite file in a sqlite browser where it put things into tables and their values. it easy to edit save this way.
