About a week ago, days, months before the Homebrew channel updated to 1.1 I was fully able to play (nearly) any Wii game I had on a external western digital 1 TB (some partitoned to WBFS). Since said update of HBC I have been able to get into the loader (in my case I use configurable), I could turn look for covers, add games, remove them, any normal functionality except boot any game - no settings changed in the loader (except I also updated that, because I thought that may be the problem as well).

Would I need to reinstall CIOS (249?) Something else?

I bet that HBC has nothing to do with it at all.
But reinstalling your cIOSs is a goot idea.

You might want to try modmii for that.

Use ModMii to install the recommended cIOS files. Also make sure you are using the latest version of whichever loader you're using. 249d2x56 and 250d2x57 should cover it.

Far to **** strange . . . . Booting into Wii games via hard drive by use of configurable works for MONTHS if not a year or more. An update to the Homebrew Channel comes out (week ago) suddenly it stopped working. . .. . . . . . .

Have installed that app to the SD card, ran it w/ deafult options I think ( get IOS 37 instead of 36 (56?)) and still is crapped out.

Run modmii on your pc, follow the generated guide inc reinstalling the HBC to run on iso 58
Get the latest forwarder for CFG loader and install that.

Do you start cfg from the HBC or an existing forwarder, try directly from the HBC and see if that improves things

Doesn't matter how I start the loader I can see the amount of games but nothing will ever load.

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
