So I have a DSi and a 3DS. I have searched for a while, and it seems the only way to backup saves, without more hardware, is over wifi. The problem is, all the save managers I have found say they only work on DS Phat/Lite. Are there any that work with the DSi or 3DS, and, if no, is it impossible, or has it just not been done?

I am sure this has already been asked, but I cant find anything.

It's not possible I'm affaid.

On the DSi and 3DS there is software running above the game (or homebrew) being run. This prevents the hotswapping required to dump saves. You'll need a DS phat/lite or a hardware dumper to dump any saves.

OK, thanks. Maybe I can borrow my friends nearly broken DS for a while to backup my saves.

You could always buy an R4i Save Dongle, cheap little things that backup DS, DSi, and some 3DS game saves. Quite nifty. I know you're looking for a non-hardware solution, but the R4i Save Dongle is quite worth the money IMO.
