i used to make programs for the amstrad cpc 464 back in the 80's but i have not written any programs since but if i knew how i sure as hell would try to get a party room for wii speak where you can have wii speak on for all games etc

NeoGamma is for disc loading (or gamecube from an SD), Cfg is for stable USB loading, and GX is for laughing at.

I know it's a lot better now, it used to be absolutely horrible though. There was one revision that could brick your Wii.

Anyway, I choose options and stability over something that looks a tiny bit nicer. I really wish there were videos of the new Cfg layout.

I want to load my apps in the homebrew channel via USB, so I put the "apps" folder in the root of my USB HDD, but nothing shows up on the Homebrew Channel.

If I use the SD card everything's fine.

What am I doing wrong?

eeehh..forgot cfg is on pause as far as developement :s

The latest is v70. One reason Cfg is on pause because there isn't anything worth adding that won't compromise stability, and the devs don't think it's worth adding things like emu support when they have very little use (which I agree with).

Press 1 (or it might be 2) and switch the device to USB. If that doesn't work make sure it's in FAT32.

Got a Wii for my son this weekend , very quickly realize that he is going to destroy the discs very quickly , he is old enough to start playing games , young enough to not understand it 100%,
So figured i would run the games off a harddrive as that way i can put the games away and not worrying about them breaking.
Figured out so far how to get the homebrew channel running.
However completely lost with the rest. Confused as what you should install next. Tried cIOS Installer and DOP-Mii , think i followed the right way however i USB loader GX just runs a black screen when i do try to use it.
Don't really wanna muck around too much as i don't really what a Brick.
Most of the stuff i find gets to technical.
Appreciate any help. However would appreicate it more if i understand it.

Not sure what you've done with your softmod so far. Click the link in my signature that says "Hack my wii with modmii", and say yes to your wii being a virgin (however skip the step for the HBC). If you're having troubles, post here.
