can wii speak or wii speak channel be hacked to stay on?
i got wii speak and want to be able to communicate with my friends when they come online to play games , but its ridiculous cos you can only chat in the wii speak channel and can't toggle out to something else unless you leave the chat first.
if anyone could think of an ingenious way i can contact friends or to hack wii speak i would appreciate it, but don't suggest dumb suggestions

I don't think this is possible when ever I needed to talk to my friends online I used skype it's free if your calling skype to skype with as many people on the line as you would like

i have never used skype :/ and i live in a 3 story town house my wii is on middle floor and the pc is on ground floor so don't think it would work :/
what about a homebrew app version of skype, it must be possible some way to do that with usb headset?

There is no Skype app for the wii.

yeah i know there isn't not yet..... but if we pull together in the community i am sure we can make one. all we need to do is put our heads together it is certainly not impossible

yeah i know there isn't not yet..... but if we pull together in the community i am sure we can make one. all we need to do is put our heads together it is certainly not impossible

msn messenger isn't open sourced. you can't just take a program and make it work on a different system. doesn't work like that.

You can't just magically convert something to run on a Wii, even if it is open source. Besides, you are talking about programs that huge companies program.

joke aside Im reasonably sure that there already are ppc compatible jabber libs and apps
someone would need to code a wii gui that uses them
