I dislike what CoD has become, and I liked the first 4 games but the online is ruined by the community. CoD has such a terrible community backing it that I can't be bothered to play online

>Mute voice chat
>Problem solved

The community is shit but there's no reason why you can't just mute them. I never listen to my teammates in any game online unless they're my friends. Also, I'm not quite sure if I'd want a user base of obnoxious 12 year olds who through around the word "faggot" like the word "the" or a user base of super elitist gamers who basically make getting into any game physically impossible.

Go play MW2 on the PC, via AlterIWNet (Google). They got AlterOps now too btw. The community is tons better on PC, and via that version of MW2 there are mods that disable boosting, grenade launchers, OMA, Danger Close, launchers, ...... Trust me, it's a completely new experience, free.

Personally I think CoD games are terrible.
BUT
Even most of my CoD adoring friends said that Black Ops wasn't that great. They like WaW and stuff better.
Whatever, I won't be buying/playing this. If I have to play a generic shooter, I'll stick to BF3.

I used to be a CoD fan, period.

Edit: But in all seriousness, I played CoD4 the longest, MW2 for a shorter time, Black ops for a shorter time and MW3 for just over a day of online. If I were to buy the next CoD, it wouldn't last me more than 12 hours before I let it collect dust.

Meh i actually like COD but.... It gets repetitive (the same with almost all FPS games)
But sometimes i'm thinking what CAN you change about a game like cod... or just FPS games.
You can't really change much about a game like cod... (except for graphics, killstreaks, weapons Etc.) buuuut that's just my opinion.

So you don't need to play games anymore to judge them? Huh, I must have missed that development.

There's nothing wrong with disliking a game, but you should play it first instead of dismissing it because, hey, that's the cool thing to do now.
When the game has been the same for the past 5 years, you can judge it without buying it.

Except that really isn't the case, so yeah, this seems like a perfect demonstration of my point.
Except that it always is the same fucking case, whats different between cod games, different weapons, a new gamemode, and some titles.

Call of Duty is madden of shooters.

The brand new campaigns (Treyarch much more so than IW, but still), filled with memorable set pieces, revamped multiplayer, new game modes, and a host of other adjustments between each new game are pretty hard to miss. Unless, of course, you haven't actually played the games.

Then again, it is pretty easy to lose sight of the facts when you're too busy jumping on a bandwagon.

All of that shit could have just been DLC. They didnt need to make another game for it.

When any major developer ever releases a full fledged sequel to their one of their games (with all of the features I listed above) as DLC only, let me know.

The bland new campaigns (Treyarch much more so than IW, but still), filled with unmemorable set pieces, revamped multiplayer, new game modes, and a handful of other adjustments between each new game are pretty hard to miss. Unless, of course, you haven't actually played the games.

I left New game modes alone, but really they haven't done much for that either.
it's the same shit, i'm sorry if you don't notice that.

Graphic update, and roster perk shuffle update is all they really do.

It's not even a graphic update, they just change the color scheme around.

If you disliked Pokémon Red/Blue, would you dislike Black/White as well?

I used to be a CoD fan
Then you took a bullet to the knee

Its not a sequel if it can be DLC dumbass.

The difference between Pokemon Red/Blue and Black/White is like comparing humans that first walked the earth, to humans that travel in space

It's almost as if I was saying that they had too much content to be dlc. Fancy that!

If you can't play two of them (How about, say, Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3) and not immediately see the large amount of differences between the two, the problem doesn't lie with the games themselves.

Also, really with the text editing? If you're going to argue through that, fine, but at least put some thought and effort into it.

Sniped fanboism

I love how you use sarcasm and meme pics to insult me.

What have they REALLY changed other then some stages and gamemodes? TF2 has added new maps and gamemodes and they didn't need more then one game for that. So tell me what truely makes the games different. Its one thing to like a game for all its faults its another thing to come and insult others because they don't.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.
