My brand new copy of WWE All-Stars for 3DS came with an unexpected surprise.

Club Nintendo points, previously reserved for first party Nintendo-published games, are now being included on select third party titles in North America. Both WWE All-Stars and Sonic Generations (published by THQ and Sega respectively) for Nintendo 3DS include codes that are redeemable for 30 Club Nintendo points.

This has been going on sporadically for some time in Europe, as detailed in this story from March.

I'm actually glad this is happening. Now we don't have to get first party games to get the cards anymore. :D

Now what NOA needs to do is improve the quality of the rewards from fucking shoelaces to something like a DSi Ware points or Wii remotes like Club Nintendo Japan.

They're probably doing this just because there aren't enough first-party games coming out to earn coins from.

Huh? Haven't they been doing this for some time? All the games I own for the 3DS and the last game I bought for the DS (Solatorobo) has the nintendo points thingy with it... I even got bonus points with some of them.
