Hmm.. I've been trying to decode the QR Code for the extra levels (using the one from Nintendo Life), but no luck so far. Has anyone else tried? Anyone interested? If you look at the QR code, you can see some "miniature versions" of the centering squares (a dot with a white border with a black border). Reading the QR code with a conventional scanner reveals tons of random unreadable characters. Same result if I remove the miniature versions of the "centering squares".

Aren't you supposed to read those QR codes with the 3DS, from within the game perhaps? I have no idea myself, but it feels like that's the way it should be done :)
Best of luck!

Have you tried it with a desktop QR reader like http://www.dansl.net/blog/?p=256 or http://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx ?
If it still doesn't come up with anything legible, try changing one letter of the result and making a new QR with http://qrcode.kaywa.com/

I'd help out too, but I do not have this game, (nor had I heard about it until just now).

I'm actually using zxing to read it. And I will try the making a new QR soon.

Yeah, they're supposed to be read via the 3DS, but it must be crackable.

Umm, how sure you are that the "random unreadable data" isn't the actual data for the level though?

It is the data for the level.

Oooh, So you want to "crack" the QR codes to insert your own? Sorry I missunderstood :)
And yeah, Using the QR maker to change a few characters to see the difference I think is the best shot you have.

Can you think of any other encoding software that would work?
No. The most applications available is capable to encode only standard text or url, but not raw binary data which is used in Pyramids ws well as Mii QR codes.
Anyway Pyramids levels seems to be protected somehow, maybe even ciphered. One bit change of raw data makes unusable QR code for Pyramids. More levels is needed for complete analysis.

just some extra info dudes - http://3dsware.nintendolife.com/news/2011/10/interview_enjoy_gaming_pyramids_3ds_eshop

there's an interview with the coders discussing the game and how they want to work with the community to make QR levels

also, after finding this post last night and getting curious i found their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/EnjoyGaming where they have in their pictures section some levels and the corresponding QR code underneath.

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
