On my DS lite I have a DSTT card which took care of all my emulating needs. Just wondering what all I'll be able to do with my 3DS without trying to get too much into detail lol.

Can anyone lay down some helpful information for me? :)

Nothing really...
No seriously there are no 3DS flashcards but theyre are DS flashcards which can play DS games on the 3DS.

And not to mention no decent games yet (few exceptions)

The 3ds hasn't been hacked yet, thus there's nothing the 3ds can do in comparision to the ds (which isn't hacked either, anyways). You can update your dstt's bootstrap to be comparible with the latest 3ds firmware, but I've heard many cases of bricks, so I wouldn't recommend updating your dstt; you can still use your dstt on your lite.

The basics of what you'll be able to do are: internet with the (supposedly crappy) web browser, some built in apps to pass time, the camera, and the eshop to buy classics and dsi/3ds wares.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I have a lot of stuff on my DSTT I was hoping it might work on the 3DS to play my DS games but I don't wanna risk a brick. So they don't have any flash carts for the 3DS to play even just DS games?

Yeah I'll probably pick up Zelda OoT and Starfox. Then Mario Kart and Mario 3D when they come out.. I already downloaded the free Zelda, that was a given lol.

The acekard 2i and SuperCard DSTwo are probably the best flashcarts with the highest compatibility to games and to 3ds' firmware updates. You'll at least be able to load ds back-ups, but (obviously) not 3ds back-ups.

The DSTwo is much pricier, but it has some extra features such as: gba emulator, a powerful mediaplayer, Real Time Save/Guide, Free Cheat, special homebrews that are only playable using DSTwo's extra built-in CPU, etc. If you're good with ds back-ups and generic homebrews, emulators, etc, then ak2i will suffice you.

Yeah I mainly use my current flashcart for ds games, and a NES emulator. I'd love to have a Gba emulator because I have like 2 or 3 Gba games I like to play. Sucks that the 3DS doesn't have the Gba port, but I'll probably go for the cheaper cart.

Also one other thing. I'll probably want to play 3DS games from a flashcart once that option is available.. Do you think think the Acekard 2i or Supercard DSTWO will be able to do that once the 3DS is hacked?

I doubt that. It was built to play ds games on ds mode; they aren't powerful enough.

But what if the AK2i/DSTwo get updated to take advantage of 3DS mode, once it's hacked?

So basically they will release a brand new card specifically for 3DS games/roms once it's hacked? That's a bummer, I might just wait until they release that one then, since it will most likely play DS games as well. Then I don't have to buy 2 cards.

EDIT: I also saw some stuff about Acecard 3, anyone know anything about it?

Its power is determined by the processor that is used (DSTwo has a better one, thus can do more) and not the firmware, meaning that an update of its firmware won't make it more powerful to be able to run 3ds games.

Acecard 3 is a clone; don't bother about it.

There are many speculations for a 3ds hack, but it's mainly one of the two: a more powerful flashcart (as you said) or a custom firmware like how the psp and ps3 has. As for 'it will most likely be back-wards compatible' I doubt about that. DS flashcarts require an attachment or extra power to run GBA back-ups due to it not having native support for GBA; basically, it's emulating the GBA games. To emulate another system, it's obvious that it'll require more power. If they make the 3ds flashcart very powerful, it might be able to emulate DS games though.

Ah alright, I understand now. Well I'll probably just suck it up and buy an Acecard 2i since I'll have to buy another flashcart for 3DS games eventually. The DSTwo looks really nice, especially with GBA emulation, but there's only 4 or 5 gba games I'd play anyway.. You said the Acecard will work just fine for any DS game on the 3DS though, right?

I would suggest making a Mii and setting up the Streetpass Plaza first.

Most people don't do that, and come crying to me wondering why they don't get Streetpasses...

Other than the Streetpass games, you could check out AR Games and Faceraiders. I would definitely recommend Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and of course Ocarina of Time.

There's always the eShop too.

I gave up on streetpass after walking around a busy walmart and a busy mall without picking up any miis. I even went into gamestop and didn't pick up anything.
