Is there any known way to backup game saves from the switch other than paying for cloud saves? I have a switch lite, and want to save my FE saves safe.
Officially? you need to pay for Nintendo Online
an Offline method? only if you either got an Unpatched Switch and a Payload Injector, or a Patched Switch with a PicoFly Modchip installed

by any chance, have you got either of these?
if not, I strongly recommend against paying for Nintendo Online for saves, this pretty much is solved by the community the moment you get CFW into your Switch

also, confused as the new Virtual Game Card method they announced in the recent Nintendo Direct, how much would affect this on Atmosphere and Switch owners that use CFW? would this be a big change? or just another method not getting into the way of the old ones?

Other than creating unnecessary clutter on your SD card, it doesn't really hurt.

I personally like to keep the number of apps on my SD card as low as possible and avoid having e.g. multiple title installers or unnecessary apps that I'll hardly ever use. I do keep the copies of the latest builds for some of the apps on my PC that I don't actively use but might find useful in the future, mainly because some repositories come and go. Archive.org does have backups for most of the stuff, but still I find it more convenient to just update my backups.
I been trying to keep my SD Card cleaner
when I first installed CFW on my Switch, it was around 2018, beginning 2019
so I had a unorganized mess
as of 2 years I think, I began installing Atmosphere myself instead of using packs like HATS or DeepSea (from Team Neptune)
I previously was a user of the Switch SD Homebrew SD Setup myself, and they dissapeared completelly last year

either way, its been much easier to install a fresh Atmosphere, getting the sigpatches and my favorite Homebrew to use rather than troubleshooting a pack that at times gets outdated or doesn't update for months (suffered this with Kosmos and DeepSea the short time I used them)

I have an XCI file with an integrated update, I want to extract the base game and its update and convert them into seperate files. The update is now in the form of a bunch of loose NCA files in a folder called "update" but I can't convert them back into an NSP file. All the tools I find will only convert one individual NCA file into one individual NSP without repacking them.

nspBuild asks for an npdm file which I don't know how to obtain, there was nothing like that when I extracted everything from my XCI.
on pc I don't know, but you can also just install the xci and then dump the base and update

this will also keep the valid ticket and nca signatures for the update, as long as you're not using dbi to install the xci

Hi everyone. For some context, I have kept very safe about installing "backups" of games on emunand, and just staying safe on sysnand. However. Today I was checking if ghost eshop was back online yet, and right when I loaded into tinfoil and saw my games were weirdly low I realized: I was in my sysnand. I only opened tinfoil, no installs. I immediately booted to emunand and waited there, but idk what to do. (I don't have nand backup sadly)

You gotta find out sooner or later
at times, much much later
(I been a SysNand user myself since using CFW on my Switch, lasted almost 4 years with access to the eShop until 1 day, it mentioned I lost access to the service, meaning my console was banned)

if you didn't do anything while on SysNand, everything may be good
if not, then just wait until they ban your console

If you had tinfoil installed you probably have a tinfoil forwarder on sysnand/OFW, so you are probably screwed, you are screwed since you have no NAND backup.

I have a modded Switch, which is the "second" console to my unmodified OLED. I have lots of purchased games.
The result is the it will "check" with Nintendo on playing owned games like BotW and TotK.
The problem is that I have multiple users to play multiple versions of save files. The non-primary users are not allowed to play.

Is there a way to disable this?

Non primary switch will always check if the games can be run when you launch them.

Does anyone have an idea why MLB The Show 25 (base, not update) only ever play the demo version? When I open it, it says 'game is installing in the background' but nothing else is ever different. There is an exit button, but it just goes back into the game.

Original switch running atmosphere, latest firmware and sig patches.

Fairly sure the switch it banned so I keep it offline now anyway.

If its like the NBA2k games, base is only a demo, you must update the game to get the full version/ all features. Try updating.

It will only be your console, but you will not have access to Switch online any longer, or any online gameplay at all on that Switch console. Your Nintendo account will be safe though, so if you get another unbanned Switch, you can link to that account no problem

Ah OK thanks. Can I just load the latest update/download, copy across, and then install? Or can I install updates from a shop or something?

if it is an Sports game
Most likely that the entire game its on the Update and the base game just give you the title and a way to launch the game on the Switch

Starlink, Battle for Atlas its such as case where the base game doesn't run at all when the update contains the rest of the game, even with a Physical Cartrige

also, its a good idea to install game updates if they have one

I've noticed that DBI 775 or newer has dbi.locations file as well. What is it used for? From what I can see it links to the website that hosts the latest DBI, but I'm not sure where else it's used.

hello, does anyone know a different way to download teslay overlay on switch? Ive tried downloading it and it gives me a blue atmosphere error and I have to wipe my SD card and then start over.

Thanks for responding. I just wonder whether there is a way to disable/bypass this with the hack. I guess side-loading a ripped version would make a difference.
if the non-primary console is modded, just install a fake ticket with the correct title key and it will stop having to check online to run the game

you can get the title key from your primary console if it's modded, or somewhere online if it's not (hint: unmodified eshop nsp have the correct title key in the ticket)
