With just one week away from the official Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo has decided that now is a good time to have a Direct focused solely on Nintendo Switch 1. Nintendo just announced that there will be Nintendo Direct specifically for Switch 1 games and updates tomorrow March 27th, with around 30 minutes of news for upcoming Switch titles.

The Switch 1 Direct can be seen through Nintendo's own YouTube account, as well as other social media, starting at 7am PT / 10am ET, on Thursday, March 27th, 2025. There will be no news about the Nintendo Switch 2, as the Nintendo Direct that will focus specifically on that console will be livestreamed on April 2nd, 2025.

Metroid Prime 4 has to be one of the most anticipated games Nintendo has been working on in development and if memory serves me right, the last direct talked about that game getting revamped to Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The timing of this is kinda odd imo, why hype up last gen stuff right ahead of the switch 2 direct? Maybe the switch 2 direct won't have many games to show? Either way hopefully we get something good here, hoping for more Prime 4 info and it'd be really cool of Nintendo to make another Tomodachi Life (probably not)

There has been some interesting games Nintendo developed on the Switch for it's last year in it's lifespan like Mario and Luigi: Brothership, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and more, but I do wished for more to be graced upon the Switch 2. It took me a while for me to be interested in Nintendo gaming lore for the Switch

I had a dream last night where the upcoming Switch 2 direct was just 5 monutes of Switch 2 render animations (like the reveal trailer).

I kinda struggle to think about anything major they could still release for Switch 1 that wasn't announced already (MP4 and Z-A are almost guaranteed to show up).

Almost everything I want seems better suited as a Switch 2 release title...

Well Nintendo does have a raging boner for ending systems with a Zelda title, so maybe we'll get Windwaker or Twilight Princess HD before it goes away. (Both? Both would be good. I'd pay $100 for a double pack.)

It'll definitely be cross-gen, like BoTW was for WiiU and Switch. Hopefully what they showed us in the most recent trailer was only Switch footage though, because those were some hella chunky and rough polygons.
