Thanks!

I have another question about the "No Game Card" option in Hekate. I upgraded my emuMMC to firmware 19, but my OFW is still running 18.1. From my understanding, Hekate should disable the Game Card slot on emuMMC, but it still works. Is this normal?
That depends on what you have on your Hekate_ipl.ini file.

NoGC is a patch which disable the access to the cartridge, on the Switch the cartridge reader is a separated device with his own firmware.

When you upgrade the console firmware, the firmware of the cartridge reader device is upgraded also on the next reading of a game.

So if you have a *NAND with a lower firmware and you have another *NAND with a upper firmware and you access the cartridge on both, you will be only able of read games on the mos updated NAND the other one will not be able to read the cartridge.

That's why the NoGC setting is for, to avoid your cartridge reader device firmware to be updated.

I have never had to update my hard-modded Switch before, but allowed my Switch to update to the current firmware so it's essentially bricked. Any handy, idiot-proof guides to update Atmosphere and any other important components of the UI that will need to be updated?

Will I get banned if I use a mod to remove blur from Link's Awakening on sysMMC? I own the cartridge, so nothing illegal.

My switch won't boot in RCM mode with an SD card inserted anymore. With no SD card, it shows the boot menu just fine and (correctly) claims the SD card isn't inserted. Trying to restart after is just a black screen.

Something get corrupted? Looking for recommended course of action here.

If nothing else, I'd try to reinstall Atmosphere and Hekate and see if that fixes your issue. It shouldn't do any additional harm, I guess. Backup Atmosphere and Hekate related folders before you reinstall just in case.

Try another SD Card, first format that card using using fat32 format (https://gbatemp.net/download/gui-format.33869/) then test your sd card using H2Testw (https://www.heise.de/download/product/h2testw-50539) after that copy just Hekate on the card and copy hekatexxxxx.bin as payload.bin on the root of the card and test, if Hekate is loaded your other card is corrupted. backup all files and repeat the process on the old card.

sysmodules-ovl keeps crashing atmosphere when I use B to go back. The PID from atmosphere is Tesla's [40000000007E51A], but this only happens with the sysmodules ovl.

Is there an alternative for sysmodules-ovl? I need to toggle bitmap printer on and off for screen recordings frequently.

I let it sit overnight and tried again in the morning and it just worked. I don't know why.

Couple of questions related to some of the backup operations available:
  1. When using the NSP option of the nxdumptool to backup my own cartridges, does that include my cartridges-specific certificate like it would if one did a full cartridge backup?
  2. After inserting my carts when TInfoil is open it asks "Would you like to install this game cartridge?" What type of backup process does TInfoil use to "install" my game locally?
I'm trying to limit the amount of loss if I were to lose Switch carts:
  • If I lose my carts, I'm out a bunch of money
  • If I do full copy backups of my own carts onto an SD card & lose it (or the Switch) I could get banned if someone ends up finding it & using it.
  • If I do full copy backups of my own carts onto a migswitch or an unlockswitch & lose that, then I could get banned if someone ends up finding it & using it.
At the end of the day, I just want to play my games where the only risk would be losing the actual Switch, the SD card and the time & effort put into getting everything setup.

NO

Doesn't not do a «backup» tinfoil read the cartridge content as xci and install it as a normal xci file

Buy a Mig and create a set of FULL backups of your own Cartridge and store them on the safe.

Thanks @impeeza - one more

Does this also include any game-specific certs? (Just trying to understand a little more - thanks)
I really do not use too much Tinfoil, sorry. any tinfoil lover can tell if tinfoil trims or install your Certificates?

Besides YOU NEVER SHOULD GO ONLINE in a *NAND with tinfoil runing on it.

Thanks again and I agree. Currently I only go online in OFW to get digital purchases but I could see booting into OFW for multiplayer games bit that's rare.

Hello All,

I need some help. I decided to update my emunand to the latest version 19.0.0. tonight.

It completed the process but then when I rebooted it got stuck. After some research, which I should I have done before I updated, I realized I needed to update my Atmosphere and currently the version that supports FW19.0.0 is in beta. So I have loaded the Beta Atmosphere, updated my sigpatch files and fusee and Hekate.

I can get to the selection CFW screen on Hekate but when I select it, I get a "failed to apply 'nosigchk'. I have 2 choices at this point, to hit power button to continue or to hit volume button to go to options. If I hit the power button the loading continues. Volume button takes me back to the main Hekate menu.

What am I doing wrong or missing? I updated everything I could. How do I solve the "nosigchk" issue?

Also, not sure if this is related, but once I fully boot all my games work but Tinfoil does not.

Many thanks for any help.

What happens if in hekate you go to payloads and select fusee.bin you should have placed the latest fusee.bin in SD/bootloader/payloads from the atmosphere release download i know there is a fix for your issue i just cant remember what it is someone else should know. Actually does your hekate_ipl.ini have this line in it kip1patch=nosigchk
