I would suggest giving 999's sequel, Virtue's Last Reward, a go, as it uses the whole 'multiple timelines' thing more effectively - like, it's tied into the overall story more, instead of essentially only being used to remember the coffin code and in the ending.Most likely. It's not that I didn't enjoy the premise but the story just went so bizarre in a way that I don't think it needed to.
Then again...I've really been getting into Ace Attorney so maybe I should give it another chance![]()
In VLR, you go jumping across timelines a lot more often, and two characters from 999 do make a return; though it does have its own plot twists too, of course.
I personally would not recommend the third game (Zero Time Dilemma) though, as it's a lot more gorier than the first two (the first two had discretion shots or still frames of blood and violence; ZTD actually shows people killing each other), doesn't have a Nonary Game, and is not nearly as interesting, unfortunately.
