Hi all, apologies if this is the wrong forum to post this, as this is my first post. I found myself sufficiently frustrated with the lack of information on the boards or elsewhere about getting this specific controller to work on the Wii, so I am posting for anyone else that has this issue in the future (and is too stubborn to buy something that works more easily.)

The controller in question is the Hori Battle Pad for the Switch. It looks like a Gamecube controller and connects via USB. To be clear, this is not the Wii-U version which works natively as I understand.

The problem many faced is that the controller has a different PID when connected to a computer vs the Wii. Using HID test on the Wii, I found that it is HID compatible under the VID/PID pair 0F0D_00C1. (The PC recognized one seems to be for XINPUT - mappings generated under this api will not work on the Wii.)

I have attached the config file that worked for me. Resave the text file as a .ini with the same filename, and then place it in the /controllers/ directory on the root of the SD card.
