I have no idea how to add cheat codes for games on the EZ-Flash Omega DE. There's a folder called CHEAT, and then one called Eng and another called Chn, how do you find the specific game you want to add cheats to? There's no names, they're just numbers.

I found this, but it's not working:

Find out your games serial code. There are a few ways you can do that:
1. Look at the label of the original game. It'll say something like "AGB-AX4P-EUR"
2. Open your game ROM in a tool that allows you to read the header data. gbata for example. It'll list the serial code as well. 1709404102678.png
3. Open the ROM file in a hex editor like HxD. The important part of the serial (AX4P in this case) can be found at offset 0xAC

The important bit is the middle bit, AX4P in our instance of Super Mario Advance 4, EUR version. Once you know the serial, open the GameID2cht.bin file from your CHEAT folder in a texteditor, and search for the serial number. To the right of it, you'll find the filename for the cheats. Note that you might find the serial code multiple times, that means there will be multiple cheat files. In my example case, it's 1190 and 1631. These are the cheat files.

Still no solution to this problem. Let's just make an official statement. You can't have cheat codes on GBA without original hardware. The everdrive GBA Mini and the EZ Flash Omega DE have no ability to use cheat codes for GBA games. Don't waste your money on either of these garbage devices.

You don’t have it working and don’t pretend you do.
I rarely use cheats on the GBA, but I've tested it once or twice with a few games in the past, and it worked the few times I tried.

That being said, I am sure there are a lot of dead or non-working codes in that database (due to different versions, limitations of how their cheat engine works, etc.), just like pretty much any other cheat database I ever came across. I assume EZFlash scrapped online databases with Gameshark or Gamegenie codes and converted them to their format, I doubt they checked every single cheat code to see if it's actually working.

You should definately be able to create valid, working cheat codes for your specific ROM using an emulator.

Well, I can't. I tried, and it's impossible. The online tool that's available doesn't work at all. Just call it official, there are no ways to get cheat codes working on flashcarts (Everdrive/EZ-Flash) for GBA.

Sounds like a you-problem, then.

Its trivial getting cheats to work, if you understand how they function.

litterally the first game and cheat I tried:

Good for you. Now try getting a code that you found online or a code that you made yourself to work on that thing. The majority of the codes on this device are in chinese. You don't even know what they do. Good luck translating them, lol.

The folder structure is impossible to navigate through on file explorer, you can never find the game you're looking for because it's just a bunch of weird numbers, and getting your own code to work on it isn't going to happen anytime soon.

This guy's tool doesn't work period:

I knew it was a waste of 10 minutes making the video. I was definetly sure you would weasel around the proof and try shifting the goalposts.
I am not gonna waste another 15 minutes creating my own code or trying to find one online only for you to go "but you didn't try on a Thursday night with a full moon on my hardware with your arms tied behind your back".
@slaphappygamer provided a way to look up the correct number online, and I specified how you can look it up in the actual cheat file. Just because the cheatfiles look like they have no rhyme or reason, doesn't mean they are impossible to use, it just means you failed to understand mine or slapphappygamer's instructions.
Heck, using my post, you should have been able to create your own database file with your own file names.
Fact of the matter is, that I did create my own cheat code in the past, when I was trying to figure out how the omega cheat codes are formated. I didn't bother to keep that, as I don't really use cheats.

I'm just trying to help, but you're fighting with hand and foot to not accept any help from anyone, just because you don't actually want to get it to work or figure things out, you just want to be a negative Nancy

You got nothing. All you can do is talk crap. I never shifted the goal post, it was always at that point. That's what people like you are like. I'm not even reading that giant paragraph of copium garbage you wrote. You're trying to turn it around on me and make it into something about me when it isn't that at all.

I was 100% right. You can't add cheats to this garbage EZ-Flash Omege DE. It's official, so cope and seethe harder.

i just brought the EZflash Omega DE, I'm going to try myself

http://www.ezflash.cn/zip/omegacheatlibrary.zip

^ that should contain the cheats, just copy to your sd. you should be good to go

but which game are you looking at, with what cheat do you want to do?
This is exactly what I downloaded. Unzipped and copied it to the root of the sdcard. I now have tens of thousands of cheats for all the games I have. Are you having issue with a certain game?

Can you read the majority of them? No, they're in chinese. Can you add your own. No, it's impossible. Those codes are useless. Only some of them are in English, and you can't add your own. Most of those English codes suck and are boring and generic anyway. Can you even navigate through the folder structure on file explorer? No, it's nothing but a bunch of numbers. Very difficult to find your game.

You are absolutely not. People have added cheats by themselves in the past, I have done it myself when someone else was asking about the cheat format and looked into it years ago.

But do keep on "playing" dumb.

Adding cheats is as simple as looking up the number of the cheat file, either in the database file or the online release number database, opening them in a text editor and pasting your cheats there.

All my cheats are English and I can read them right from my GBA. The “bunch of numbers” are the number of the rom. There online tools that help you identify them. I think it would help everyone else if you name the specific game you are having issue with. Then we can focus on that more, rather than the “every thing is fucked, it’s shit” approach.
