Cant remove Parental Control

I already got the master key but everytime I try to delete it it just says "The necessary data is missing With the internet connected, please wait with the HOME Menu open, without activating Sleep Mode. Then try selecting Clear Settings." I didnt make any modifications to my 2ds (yet) and I've seen some people solve this problem by updating their 3ds which is probably a bad idea right now, how do I remove it?

I was asking to see how he got the master key, because the website he used might be outdated. I already know how to do it myself because I needed too many years ago.

There have been literally dozens of (answered) instances regarding removing parental controls.

There is even a tutorial on GBAtemp linking on the (not updated) site for master key generation.

This is why I asked for the reason in rule change (and maybe the position/link where this was decided)

To the original topic: I had encountered the same problem on a 2DS being unable to remove the parental garbage after entering the correct key… and it indeed disappeared after having the console online for a while.
A fun incidence: I had to remove the parental pin… since the father in that family set this thing up without remembering anything he had done. I've always hated that kind of stuff – when technology is supposed to solve sociological (parenting/upbringing) problems.
