Hacking INSTINCT-NX Chip

Well, I successfully installed the modchip. The findings are the same as most have already told in this topic. It has excellent compatibility, has a poor build, looks like an end-of-gen clone of hwfly, and so on. I had no problems with soldering or training the chip, everything seems to be done correctly.

A curious detail that seems to me to be a peculiarity of INSTINCT NX (although I haven't tested my SD for problems). Apparently he has problems with high capacity SD. I'm using a 512GB and experience variable booting times in heakate/emunand, ranging from "almost instantaneous" to "up to a two minute wait". It is formatted in FAT32. Sometimes it gives the uncomfortable impression that it is not working, but just wait for it to boot into atmosphere without problems.

Perhaps the only thing I would have done differently was to have used the flat that comes with the chip instead of installing the fly wire type, which are basically loose wires on the board. I followed the sthetix video, which despite being excellent content, gave me the impression that the installation that excluded the flat was more on a whim than out of necessity, despite him stating that the flat would be causing interference and errors in the console.



In any case, I would buy again. I even went back to do it and found that the seller had all his ads removed. I didn't find any more chips on Aliexpress.

You need to update this adapter because I think its really bad. It has no anchoring points which leads to using uv curing mask. If uncured mask goes under the chip you're screwed.

Just did an install of the white Instinct NX chip
Getting 8 red flashes at a time

Most of the points match the range
Except the CLK this is ~0.46v1 rather than 0.500v-0.900v range
And the B point does not seem to give any reading, even from the solder point itself

Late now, 2am, will check agaiin tomorrow

But just wanted to see if anyone has gotten the 8 red flashes error?


Is there a way to check for shorts to the solder mask on the white version?

Al;so, is there a way to check the CPU connections?

red flashes, nothing else? that indicates fpga error. can you post hq picture of modchip?

with usb + putty, option 'i' should print INSTINCT, if not its a bad chip. might be simple to fix, else just request replacement

Hey all, I'm running into an issue with my OLED with INSTINCT-NX v6 chip where I'm not able to boot into SysMMC and OFW. Just getting a black screen when booting into SysMMC/OFW. Tried deleting the atmosphere folder and starting fresh but no dice. Can boot into EmuNAND just fine. I'm thinking it might be an issue with boot0 but I don't see a USB port for the chip when I open up my switch. Any ideas what I can do to refresh boot0?

boot0 is on emmc. go into hekate and use ums to mount it and you can access boot0 that way, or use backup restore from there

Removed that and now it is giving another error

Red x 2, green x 2, then white flashes, and whining sound then shuts down

Are u located in USA? Tried to order from this store but says it can't sell to my location even sent a message and they say they don't sell to America. Does anyone have a good store that will sell the black instinct nx chip to usa

If you have this issue you need to wire your connections because the fpcb you have is no good.

Do i just disconnect the connections and leave the cables on the switch mother board?
Also, do i need to desolder the CPU cables?

The error im getting now is just 8 or so red flashes, pause, 8 red flashes, etc

Sorry my phone does not have the best camera, took like 10 photos and this was the best.

I should of waited a bit before I disassembed the chip!
