JK_ offers some advice on the jpg format in that thread as well. Sometimes you have to convert a jpg to a “better” jpg to get the format just right.

Avatool doesn't work at all for me (it crashes on boot). Probably due my firmware. (16.0)
I overlayed my photo over your kitty.jpeg and now i was able to get it to show via Goldleaf so its solved for me!

I have achieved my goal, so i don't need it But it might help someone else out perhaps if they check the Avatool thread, I'm happy to test it out though if you want to do it.

Hm windows exploror nor 7zip wants to unzip this. Says the file/folder is invalid.

it is not now a zip file. Change the .zip to .nro. Imjust changed the name so I could upload it to GBATemp. :-)

Probably would have been better to just zip the nro file and not renaming anything. Windows users sometimes have trouble with their hidden file extensions.

Fixed. It is now a true zip file with a .nro file inside. Just place it in /switch dir and good to go. :-)

Could someone on here posable help? ive just had a hyfly v4 install installed to my sons v2 switch. Am I correct thinking I only need to follow this part of this guide rentry .org EristaSXCoreEmuNAND to be able to start uploading games to it??
I remember reading on another thread about flashing the v4 chip due to higher voltage or something???

if it work fine leave it alone, pretty sure the recommend firmware update was for people that was on v3 0.1.0 HWFLY.

I have mine setup to load hekate first, you can decide if you want to use sysnand or a emunand, emunand take up 29GB on the SD card.

Ive got Hekate on it working but the guide says to add a payload of choice to the bootloader/payloaders folder do i need to do this? if so what payloader

Yes payload like lockpick_RCM goes in there, that is the default folder it looks for when using hekate.

so, even booting into stock sysnand on a modded switch and going online risks a ban?

If all you ever do is boot Stock, its not an issue. But if you ever boot CFW or homebrew then proceed to go online even in Stock, you risk a ban. That is because the Switch is a telemetry monster that records everything that happens while the OS is running so the actions you perform in CFW will persist when you reboot back into Stock.

I suppose you can. It does help in finding the files needed to use CFW and homebrew. Keep in mind not all hacks work on all consoles. For example, Mariko units cannot utilize reboot to payload.

It depends who you ask. Worth is subjective and while some people focus on the positives. others will look at the negatives. Objectively speaking, there are a plethora of things you can only do with a modded Switch and the worst case scenario is that you are banned. However even in the worst scenario, there are ways to emulate online multiplayer such as LAN play or Xlink Kai so being banned isn't the end of the world. Couple that with the fact that hackable consoles, even banned, sell for far more than MSRP than consoles that require a modchip to be hacked and you will understand that many people are interested in hacking their device.

The most obvious risk was already stated to be being banned however there are ways to avoid a ban even with a modded Switch. The only other risk is the potential to brick the device. But as long as you create a dump of the eMMC (and BOOT0/1), you can always recover from a brick. Outside of that, there aren't really any other risks associated with hacking a Nintendo Switch. Of course, all of this only applies if your console isn't patched. If it is, then you will need solder a modchip inside which opens a whole other can of worms.

Hi sorry for this kind of post again and again but couldn't find answer.. i'm back on my switch which was on sxos with an emunand.
I dit this tuto to go to atmosphere : rentry.org/mys8q with the "SysNAND users" parts

After done it, I see after that I have to format my sdcard to FAT32. So I did it and bring back all my files into the sd card.

Now I'm trying to launch with the dongle and the jig as usual with volume + and power but now nothing happen.. no hekate, no sxos..

A really big thanks to help me on it
I'm a noob so please keep it simple if possible

What dongle are you using?

Please share you /bootloader/hekate_ipl.ini file.

My /bootloader/hekate_ipl.in is attached in txt format because I can't upload it in " .ini " . This is what is writing in it :
