It is a disgusting habit* and for life (as shortened as it would be on a vegan diet -- healthy vegan is an oxymoron) is rather too long and too restrictive -- it is bad enough avoiding tomatoes in restaurants but you can do it, avoiding animal products as well would be untenable in both practical and social considerations.
If we get a technicality like lab grown meat, eggs, honey... count then it might be something more to consider but I imagine the premise does not cover that.
This goes double (possibly more) if being vegan in this scenario means militant vegan -- 99% of them but there are a few that are not. If I also have to avoid being a gentleman of leather then definitely not as plastics are a while off being able to cloak myself in dead thing in anticipation of sliding down the road.

*I have never kissed a vegan and all that.
