Hi to all I don't remember how to backup a save file for a game

I should have been more specific with the question i guess.
Backups were made both with jksv and dbi.

I used dbi mtp responder feature to copy back saves. And by doing so it refused to copy saves for a user profile not existing y et.

Hopefully jksv will do the job

I dumped all saved data using JKSV and copied the directory to the new sd card containing my latest install.
However I don't get an option to recreate user profiles along restoring the saves.

Do I need to recreate users on the new emunand ?
I feel like i'm missing something essential

Search for your game on tinfoil.io or analyze your nsp file.

if not on titleid you can use https://www.gametdb.com/ or open the NSP/XCI with any tool, loke Switch Army Tool, NX Game or Info XCI-Explorer

I’ve not used my hacked switch in about a year, so I’ve not updated it. Is it safe to update the latest Atmosphere and switch fw?

yes, before update the firmware do not to forget:

remove any theme
backup and delete SD:\atmosphere\contents folder.
update atmosphère
update hekate (if you use)
update sigpatches
only then upgrade your firmware USING DAYBREAK
reinstall any sysmodule you like, restore any cheat and mod (contents folder)
apply any theme if you use it.

I always used to place my Switch on the docking station after I saw the Hekate symbol on the screen and when booting finished, the HOS screen would show up. After upgrading to Atmosphere 1.4.0, Hekate 6.0.1 and firmware 1.5.1, the screen stays black if dock the Switch during the booting process. Or at least if I do so at least up and until the Atmosphere symbol is shown, meaning I've got to reboot.

Is this normal behaviour as of the latest Atmosphere and firmware versions? It's really an issue per se, but more like an unexpected micro inconvenience.

Nop, I have a console with a trinket and another what I use a RCMLOADER and on booth after inject the payload I put on the dock and you can see the charging icon and the process of loading hekate, Atmosphère and my custom bootloader logos are displyaed on the console, the TV only get image until the HOS is full loaded.

Hello everyone, thought to better ask then do on my own and mess things up as it can be irreversible.

I have the original, first generation Nintendo Switch. My system firmware version is 9.0.1.

I've been using SX os, i have the jig and the USB-C adapter to boot into the sx firmware.

The SX os firmware version is V 2.9.2.

My Nintendo Switch isn't online banned, i never play online, it's also in flight mode, offline.

As I've been reading sx os is unfortunately dead and not supported, updated any more so best solution seems to be atmosphere.

I haven't been in the scene for a while and I'd like to switch atmosphere properly and would like some help and pointers to get things done correctly. Thank you in advance. Danny

Since CFW is just a bunch of files on the SD card, making the Switch is as easy as changing some files on your card. Just delete the old SX OS files and folders then download the new Atmosphere ones. If you need a guide on how to setup Atmosphere, you can follow this one. And in case the guide doesn't mention it, if you are using emuMMC, use the migrate emuMMC option in Hekate. It will make more sense on what Hekate is once you start following that guide.

Thank you, i looked into the link and browsed around, bit confusing for me as it mostly guides users that never hacked their switch, doesn't really go into moving from one custom firmware to another. So ok, get the sd card on the pc, delete sx os files, can you please point me where exactly to download the necessary atmosphere files?

Another thing I've read it mostly explains to users how to get into the set-up process if they don't have a jig using some 10 pin etc. I have the jig and the dongle.

Because you have dongle and jig, you don't need any other way to trigger RCM.

You can download the Atmosphere files from the official GitHub page. You can also download them from the guide I linked you earlier which I will link again here. To normally get into RCM the first time, you have to ground pin 10 on the right Joy-Con rail. This is mostly done with a jig but other conductive items can also do the job. Since you already have a jig, you can skip that part.

I hope someone can help me here.
Switch v2 was working fine before I have flashed the new hwfly firmware to my Hwfly V5.
Got like many others the problem that it stuck in training mode. Green yellow led blinking.
Tried every other boot loader and firmware from the seller but always the same behavior. Stuck in training mode.

use search function at top, there is a dedicated forum about the WHFLY and firmware troubleshoot, you can start with putting back the original firmware and test.

okay I will search again. Didn’t find anything that can help me. That’s the reason I used the noob thread. I really have no idea what the original firmware was. I had a Boot.dat screen so I assume it was the sx firmware. But as I mentioned I tried every firmware from the seller.
Sx1.3, all Hwfly and also spacecraft. All are not working.

I remember when I had copied the sysNAND/OFW to the emuNAND/CFW, the saves had been copied too. He has the cartridges in the OFW and his account.

Before I explain, you must understand that OFW and CFW are just modes. You don't "transfer" saves from OFW to CFW because you can boot OFW and CFW on the same system so in that sense, there is no transfer. However, there is emuMMC and sysMMC which operate like 2 different consoles and do not interact with each other so a transfer is necessary in that case. If we operate under that assumption, you have 2 options. You can use a homebrew save manager to dump the save data from sysMMC and then inject them into emuMMC. This of course risks getting the emuMMC banned. The other option is to remake the emuMMC after connecting the account. emuMMC is initially created as a copy of sysMMC so all data including saves will be copied over.
