Why am I not receiving some notifications?

I've noticed for the last couple months that I'm not receiving notifications on threads I was active, replies to comments or quotes/mentions.

Before: "Adjust notification settings" I want to make clear that it happens randomly.

Sometimes I get the notifications, other times I won't.

Is it related to the amount of warnings a user has?
Is like, a privilege or something?

Do you use iOS? My phone sometimes clears my alerts without me checking

Nope. Using Opera. But also happens on Chrome.
Must be a bug?

I sometimes don't get notifications if it's within a couple minutes of when a post was made and I were to refresh. most of the time I do though (have like 20 or so after I awake most of the time). temp is the only site I'm signed in on my phone, so I sometimes listen for notifications on my phone or if I'm gaming, I'll periodically look on my pc for the notification icon on temp. though, I sometimes feel I spend too much time on the internet. it kinda feels like someone obsessed with facebook, having to check it every couple minutes. lol

Sometimes if people edit quickly it does not trigger it, as might the quote merger.

Equally "there may be other posts after this" sometimes means a lot of stuff happens afterwards and that might miss some things.
