Hacking New 8.1J to 9.0J method beta & looking for testers

Just wanted to chime in and say I didn't mean for my post to be anything against you guys who are actively helping us 8.1J users. It was more "ridiculous" as in every new idea that seems could work, always turns out to be caught up by something in the end. 8.1j is a deep rabbit hole.

It wasn't to be rude; people have to realize what we are up against. Image you need to go from a to f and every time we carve a new path a letter down the line becomes a problem and we have to go back to a again.

None of us are paid programmers for this project and it is more of a hobby. I made this thread, got my beta tested and now am back in alpha with the new information.

I chose not to release some information because I have soft bricked 100+ times and permin bricked 3 n3ds doing this. I am really just throwing money away helping others not break their shit. In return I ask for help when needed and retrench when something doesn't work.

I want to go on record saying I am a rude and cockey person but I am honest and give results. Please take everything we say with a grain of salt and know that we're hard at work and also live lives outside of gba. Beta testing will continue once new information arrives and will continue to post updates here.

Im just happy here w/ my n3ds jpn on 9.2 enjoying gateway to the fullest.

I know how to code, hence why i'm one of the only devs in this scene working on this as well as Ronhero.

On 8.1.0-0 there's no browser so we can't run PastaCFW.

3DNUS doesnt work anymore, and sysupdater bricks the 3ds if used in gateway mode (the only way to use .cia files at the moment for n3ds 8.1)

Once you have mset downgraded with Gateway, couldn't you just switch over to Rxtools with its dev mode and update that way? You should be able to run Rxtools from Mset (just install its ROP and proper files?). Or does it not yet support 8.1?

There's no rop for it, only Gateway has it.

alright boys, minor setback, I broke my n3ds 8.1 system. I was testing to get mset and other entry points for us and long story short I *think* a hard mod will fix this. Not to worry when I release your guys entry points the risk of bricks or even this will be 0% but I can't continue testing until it's hard modded. Hunshamer is who will be doing mine. but good news, mset is almost under my belt, along with homebrew access on 8.1 with eshop again and maybe even more if I can tweak enough things. However for all of those extra fancy things you will need most likely a GW and a hard mod in case you install or delete a wrong system title. But back to our entry points right my boys? See you soon.

NTR also has it but it's closed source.
BTW, NTR is not using ROP but CN exploit.
