The PS4 has gotten a lot of flak for its lackluster multimedia capabilities. Unlike its predecessor, it still does not support MP3 or DLNA streams and initially it did not support 3D BluRay discs. It would seem that Microsoft noticed the complaints of Sony's disgruntled fans and acted upon them, as the Xbox One has been confirmed to receive a multimedia application supporting "a few dozen of file formats" with the capability to load files via USB and, in the future, via DLNA streaming. This is what the official Microsoft release says about it:
Interesting - perhaps this new development will additionally motivate Sony, as Microsoft is clearly hot on their tail in terms of functionality. What else is there to say? Ah, yes! I forgot the obligatory "TV, TV, TV!", didn't I?

Yep, you read that right. Metal Gear Solid is making it's return to the PC market, with Ground Zero and Phantom Pain also coming to Steam! Hideo Kojima had announced this during an MGS Stream on Twitch, and both Ground Zero and Phantom Pain have been put on the Steam store. There is, however, no announced release date for these ports.

Personally, I think this is excellent news. It's definitely nice to see MGS return to PC and opening up the game to all audiences.

One of the big Gamescom bombs was the announcement that Rise of the Tomb Raider, the upcoming next installment in the newly-rebooted Tomb Raider series was to be available exclusively on Xbox One and 360 - turns out that this "exclusivity" is only temporary.

In an interview with Eurogamer Phil Spencer, the man in charge of the Xbox division, said that "[He] didn't buy it, [he] doesn't own the franchise". This suggests that the game is in fact a timed exclusive only and may come to other platforms in the future. Spencer did not reveal anything regarding the window of exclusivity of the game, but it's fair to expect Rise of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition or something along those lines to come out not too long after the initial release on Xbox during the 2015 holiday season.

This newsflash hits hard as the Xbox platform lost two of its exclusives as of late - Rise of the Tomb Raider may possibly join Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome in the future.

Early Access has been a part of PC gaming for a while now. Typically, it entails paying for a game that is unfinished for everyone to test it, for the developers to fine tune is as it goes on, and to figure out what could be wrong with the game. That being said, Sledgehammer games has an entirely different interpretation of early access.

So basically we have come to a point where if you buy a limited edition of a game, we may be able to play it a day before its actually supposed to be out. Call of Duty has been notorious for giving preorder bonuses and digital offering to put its most hardcore gamers ahead of the multiplayer game. And now it look's like the bro-dude's will be hitting the court a day before the other n00b's even get there.
