You're assuming that the game will be released, but what if the developers decide that all the trouble of editing and censoring wouldn't be worth it?
The situation gets even more comploicated considering the low sales of WiiU and their titles.
That's why Developers aren't releasing most of their titles on WiiU
This is a general complaint about all systems, not just the Wii U. If there are plans for localizations, the games should have world-wide releases on the same date. This sort of thing is already done with games like Pokemon, but I think it should be extended to all titles, really.

Dude, I think you're confused about what I said.
I'm talking about developers not releasing their games on WiiU due to have to make censorship and editing that aren't done on the other consoles.

Also, that idea of one disk with all the content would not work due to region-lock.

There's clearly some miscommunication between us going on. :P I don't think that there's any additional censorship required on the Wii U (I mean, if Darksiders II was fine...) and if there is then Nintendo should suck it up and forget about enforcing their retarded politically correct policies. One disc to rule them all wouldn't work out on the Wii U because of region locking, which is why region locking should be gone, much like on the other systems. Not sure about the Xbox One, but the PS3 and the PS4 aren't enforcing a region lock of any kind - it's up to the developers and publishers to use one (on the PS3 whole one game was region locked, so hey).

I remember seeing not long ago that Nintendo didn't let some games been bought on e-shop in Germany IIRC in daytime because of regional laws
made to "protect their children". The games would be impossible to find, and ZombiU was one of those games.

If Nintendo did something like this because of a regional law I wouldn't be surprised if they were censorshipping and editing content on European countries because of regional laws.

It's funny how everybody else is capable of censoring their games in time and Nintendo has to have excuses all the time. Yes, Germany is pretty heavy-handed when it comes to video game censorship, but all other platforms still get games in a more or less timely fashion, including zombie-themed games. I think this is a poor excuse - they just need to get their shit together and help developers and publishers like Ubisoft get their games out - it's in their best interest.

I agree with you, Nintendo is completely outdated.
I think it's time for a new CEO for Nintendo, one that can keep with the new standarts of today,
someone that knows how to innovate, but also knows how to balance it with the demands the gamers of nowadays want.
Someone that understand that most of Nintendo gamers are adults in their mid-twenties and early thirties.
Someone that comprehend the importance of online services, third party support and a hardware that can build up to developers expectations.

The problem with Iwata is that he's a game designer, not a businessman. He should be hired somewhere where his talents are utilized - as a head of a game development studio or as a creative adviser, not as a head of a multinational money-making machine. The head of the company should be a businessman on-top of the recent trends, someone who knows when to trim the fat and what they should work on, someone with advisors as far as technology is concerned. With Iwata on-board, Nintendo will just continue to be a "magical toymaker" we know and love, except the average gamer doesn't buy magical toys - the average gamer is a male in his mid-twenties who just wants to game in peace.

I'm 30. I've ever only bought nintendo consoles. Until this generation. I bought a ps4 due to the wiiu not cutting it in all regards of gaming. I've had the ps4 for 5 weeks and only own 2 games but have had way more fun with it than I have had with the wiiu in the year+ I've owned it.

Nintendo is dead to me. After playing a game like the last of us, I've realised I've been living in the dark ages until now.

should have stuck to revolution!

Heh.

Wii Revolution would have been better.
Except it would have been a misnomer for the least revolutionary console ever.

Nintendo flopping by trying something different is "OK".
Nintendo flopping because they release a Tablet controller on an underpowered system ? MEH

And microsoft or Sony did ANYTHING new with their consoles except making them more powerful? I'm not defending nintendo, but at least they tried something new. It was risk and they failed; nintendo have gone downhill since the wii, I hope they don't go the way of Sega.

Oh shut up already with this whole "Nintendo is so innovative!" They added a touch screen to a controller, the rest of their Wii U "improvements" are years behind the competition.

So besides the gamepad and Miiverse, what did Nintendo bring new to the table?

I'll let him use his own Google-fu. Nintendo wasn't the first to use motion controls (LeStick says hi), they weren't even the first to use a remote-like controller (CD-i, unless you also count Intellivision and other such systems).

Just because Nintendo's implementation stuck does not mean they did it first. The same applies to a long list of Nintendo's "innovations" that weren't really innovative to begin with.

Besides, it doesn're matter who does what first - what matters is who does what well and whether a given innovation makes technology improve and progress.

Of all "games", you bring the last of us as an example? But this is not a game, it's a tv movie with third person shooting minigames instead of advertisements...

I have been a "PC Master race" gamer for 20 years, and i had pretty much given up on modern gaming until i discovered the Nintendo DS. These days, i maintain a powerful rig for work (programming) and the occasional Bethesda game, and game almost exclusively on my 3DS...

I do not like to play my movies, especially when they are padded to the death to extend the "play time", in order to justify their cost.

I can understand that they can be impressive the first few times, but after the novelty of "hey its like a movie" dies and you get bored to death by the lack of decent gameplay, you 'll come to understand that Sony and MS were the dark ages all along... I know...
