Hey hagrun thx for the reply and i just spent the last hour combing through every single post and just have a question that im hoping u can confirm so that it sinks in when omarrio said he is not translating the story did he mean its never gonna happen or it will eventually and if so i need to know so i can stop dawdling here and take out time to learn japanese this summer
Right, fine.
  • He will never do it. Most translations have the very same goal, make the game playable for non-Japanese speakers. And the goal was achieved;
  • He made tools available for those willing to translate the story (on both games) to whatever language;
  • Some people are doing it right now and some are here as well (just look again, look harder).
However, if you're convinced that you can learn Japanese so fast, you could do it and help these people. I would thank you, even if I have no interest.

well thx for the quick reply im not entirely convinced i can do it fast but i can at very least learn it over a period of time it would make life easier in terms of games and anime and manga [ especially if this never get fully translated] and hopefully well enough to no longer need it and if i do i might as well help but thats a long way off considering its a bucket list goal anyway ill check this place very month or so for updates and i dont want to search through the posts for the one or 2 people translating any way thx for the info and quick reply

P.S when u said both games did u mean TF6 and TF ARC V

*sigh* Ah, frankly...

Keep stalking Screw_the_Rules here or clickclaxer01 on youtube from now on.

You could have found this info less than 10 posts above yours. And yeah, TF6 and TFSP... You'll see progress on both if look well.

Clearly you know nothing.
To say that no one cares is a blatant falsehood.
I was translating my ass off on TF6 before I switched over to translating TFSP.
There are people who care......correction, there is a person who cares, that is I, Clickclaxer01.
Look it up before you start spreading untrue rumors of misery and despair.
Nice that you care. It's been years and still we get only half of the game. Care harder ;).

not trying to be rude here but can anyone tell me if they r even working on finishing the story or not cause at this rate i might as well learn japanese and play the raw
You better learn japanese, cuz like I said, no one cares about these games in terms of storyline. You might find 2 people working on it but thats it.

If you had the time to learn a whole foreign language with weird characters, you'de have the time to read the whole thread, and certainly to notice this:

Also if you just saw the replies to your questions and the ones before you, and actually used your brain to link stuff together, you'll notice that my team is NOT doing the story, at ALL.

Yes its all in the same place, but when I launch the game, everything is in japanese though...

Well thats weird. i just patched both games today (from august update) and they worked like a charm (just the issue with the voices from the TFSP). So idk whats causing your problem :S

In other toppic. Does anybody know how to get 60fps for Tag Force Special? i like the smooth gameplay in tf6 with that tweek.
I tried to follow this guide http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=4799&pid=104375#pid104375 but its my first time doing that so...

No bro in psp is english
Then I dont get it.. Why is mine all in japanese? Do you open the TF6_0.4 or open the original game in the psp? Because when I open the TF6_0.4 all it gives me is a black screen, while when I open the original game, it's all in japanese.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
