Analog sticks, vibration, motion controls, wireless controls. I would say those are the vast majority of the key console innovations over the past 15 years (all Nintendo created).

And while the WiiU is failing right now I am glad Nintendo releases a new console that doesn't just rely on providing better graphics. Eventually the console world will reach a point where the graphical improvements on new consoles become less and less impressive. When that point comes I'd love to see Sony or Microsoft come to the rescue with innovations as successful as analog sticks or vibration.
Analog sticks... even the Atari 5200 had that hell even then the PC says Hi
Motion controls... Sega Bass Fishing, Samba De Amigo....
Wireless controls... Atari 2600
Vibration... PC Again

Oh God no, it's starting!

The bolded parts that were not first used by Nintendo, vibration/force feedback was used in arcade cabinets before the N64 but to be fair, the rumble pak is the first home console accessory that used haptic technology so I didn't bold that, please do some research before you write something.

That was the whole point behind releasing the WiiU - Nintendo wanted to reconnect with the core gamer and release a console that tops the 360 and the PS3.

They already have - Sony introduced using a camera in gameplay (NOT the Dreamcast - that camera was not used in gameplay in any way) as well as the dual analog setup that's used to this day, also by Nintendo.

Microsoft created a fantastic online network unlike anything seen on consoles before, and while it's not the first implementation of online features, it remains the best in the console sphere. They also improved upon Sony's PlayStation EyeToy with the Kinect, by adding voice recognition and an IR camera for more accurate body movement detection.

Of course there's more one could talk about, but why waste breath? All three companies made an impact on the industry and all innovated in their own, specific way.

People who censor themselves, if your so hell bent on not saying the word fuck, what difference does one letter make!?

If you're so hell bent on using abbreviations then what difference does one letter make!?

That irritates me - you're and your are not the same. For that matter neither are there, their and they're.

The kids often don't, which is the whole point. ;)

Really now? You've never been on Roblox or Minecraft have you? Some 12 year old comes on, he says something like "U guys r all sh*t I hope u all eat monkey d*cks, f*ck u all!!!!!!" Same with a game like TF2, the only case of people censoring themselves I see, are the kids themselves, usually because a parent is in the room. The Temp is the only place ive seen where its the other way around.

Since I was referring to the world of modern console gaming three out of your four references are irrelevant. The creation of the dual shock controller should just scream ripoff. The original PSone controller had no vibration or analog sticks. The N64 is released with the rumble pack and analog stick. Eventually Sony deems fit to release a new official controller using both of these concepts. And when Microsoft entered the console business these two features were again used. So essentially while vibration and motion control weren't invented by Nintendo they were the first to use them in the modern console business era, which caused the other two console giants to see how effective they were and use the ideas themselves. Is it safe to say Nintendo took all four of these concepts, which were used before, and utilize them in a more effective manner (causing Microsoft and Sony to alter their plans). I would say so.

Good sir. Are you going to compare the effect the N64 rumble pack and analog stick had on console gaming to an eyetoy? I really really hope not. One changed the way Sony and Microsoft developed their controllers. The eye toy impact isn't in the same universe.

Nintendo 64 introduced the form factor of the analog stick that we're using now (not the stick itself), but it didn't popularize it - the PlayStation did, that's the setup we're using now.

As I said, there's dozens of other innovations Microsoft and Sony introduced or improved upon - online features, digital distribution, multimedia features, analog sliders (not sticks, I'm talking PSP here) and so on and so forth, but this isn't the thread to discuss this.

You were wrong, you were proven wrong with actual evidence, give it up and don't derail the thread - don't be a Nintendo Pretorian.

1. Cash links that link to "you have to complete a survey and get tones of junk mail" for a download - This is notorius for some free BT trackers on the net where the file will have a password and you have to jump through those loops to get a 1kb text file

2. Manditory Registrations. I Hate that... You download a file from one website and you open up the file to be told you have to go to ANOTHER site to unlock it... Why Release it outside yer site if your gonna make us go to yours anyways (yea i do understand the real reason is to drive traffic to there site but still annoys)
Both these so much omg. If I had enough burner phones and spam emails, I'd actually do them just to see if they're legit.
