Pokemon Emerald, sadly.
Yep, same here, along with FireRed/LeafGreen. They really are great games, a lot of people dismiss them because they think they're 'childish' or something, and I just don't see how it matters. Awesome games are awesome games.
Also, I absolutely loved Super Mario Advance for some strange reason.

Golden Sun 2 would have to be my favorite.

Why? Well the sheer scope of it, and story were great. I really love large rpg worlds, and the Golden Sun world lived up to that. The sprite graphics are beautiful. Shall I go on? I don't think I've beaten any rpg other than Shining Force 2 as many times as the Golden Sun series..

this. definitely this.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age

These are the best RPGs on the system, as everyone here says, and perhaps the best RPGs of all time on any system. They're not groundbreaking or revolutionary, but they're polished, fun, and pretty flawless

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

This game has it's flaws, but it's strengths make up for it by far. It's horribly addictive, though. The only other game that forced me to stay up all night is maybe PC Civilization II or III. Not terribly challenging from a tactical standpoint in the way Advance Wars can be (another good game, by the way), this game is more about collecting and developing.

Warioland 4

The big flaw of this game is that it's much much much too short. But that's the ONLY flaw. This has great music, great controls, each level is distinct and yet internally consistent in concept, visual design, and is often terribly clever. It combines slow platform exploration and stressful run-like-hell moments. What a great game. My favorite 2-D platformer, and a game that is all too often overlooked.

Rhythm Heaven is probably my most played GBA game. Has some of my favorite music of all time, and is a real challenge.

No, my friend you are the one who is mistaken. It was a Japanese GBA game years before.

The game "Rhythm Heaven" we got for DS was called Rhythm Tengoku Gold in Japan. Here it is just called Rhythm Heaven. The original Rhythm Tengoku (heaven) never made it to US.

In fact the GBA version is much better IMO. Check it out.

Mine would have to be both of the Golden Sun games.

I also loved the Zelda and Pokemon games aswell.

Haven't played any GBA in ages though, but i'll play loads of it when i get my EZflash 3-in-1 soon.

Golden Sun and The Lost Age, really I consider it one game. IMO it's the best RPG ever made. After all these years it's still my favorite game.

Metroid Zero Mission, and Metroid Fusion.
Followed by Boktai, boktai 2, and then boktai 3.
Advance Wars and Fire Emblem are good too, but fire emblem, I find, is tedious.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.
