God dammit. Not ANOTHER FREAKING RUMOR.
OT: I think calling it the Nintendo would make Nintendo look bad; It worked for the NES when it was a monopoly. Now? Not so much.
More like UNES,
Ultra Nintendo Entertainment System.
Or something even more funny in pronunciation ANES,
Advanced Nintendo Entertainment System.
FTW! If Nintendo does this, it would make for great marketing!
If it is what I think, they should call it "Super GameCube" and rename the company to "Miyamoto’s Playhouse" since that appears to be the mission statement of the company.
Seriously, this would be a great way to market the system. Focus on the brand name and let the rest follow. Its like the WWE nixing "World Wrestling Entertainment" to simply be called by those three letters. Same goes for KFC and BP. Sometimes, simplicity is best.
They can even Call it C.R.A.P (Cybernetic Relax and Adventure Perhaptial) and I won't give a damn, I just want them to deliver a good console both control-wise and hardware-wise.
