So I just installed an xk3y on my phat console and I'm getting "unrecognizable disc" after i load the iso from an external drive. "Mixed media disc" shows up, I then navigate with picture viewer to the iso on my external drive. The games icon shows up, but after hitting "play game" I get the unrecognizable disc error. I followed all steps proper and updated the xk3y firmware to version 2.01-4, the latest version i could find. I've tried loading 5 different iso's all with the same error. I checked all my iso's with abgx360 and they all came back with the green light. I've been searching all over and can't find any info on this specific problem. Any ideas? I would much appreciate it, thanks!

As far as I know the DVD key is good. I have a liteon dg-16d2s, I extracted the key with jungleflasher, loaded the key, spoofed it with original FW and saved the firmware.bin file. There were no errors during this process. I do believe dashboard updated after i extracted the DVD key and before i installed the xk3y. Could this be the culprit? At the time of the DVD key extraction I already had FW 0251c on the drive.

Hmm, I'd say update it and copy the xkey.cfg to your storage device that has the games.

Strange update on the situation, I just successfully installed an iso from my external drive to the HDD of the xbox and the game works when i load it with xk3y. But I don't have the storage room, or patience, to install every iso to the xbox HDD.

I've verified again with another game that installing the iso to the internal HDD and then loading the iso off the external with xk3y works and the game runs fine. Still can't run any iso's straight off the external. The iso's are recognized and will load the games icon, but 10 seconds after selecting "play game" I get "unrecognized disc"

Thanks for your time and help. I've tried firmware 1.30 and 2.01-4. Is there a version you'd suggest? I was able to successfully run 1 iso straight from the exteral drive. i've tried 10 iso's total. Maybe my iso's are bad even though ABGX says they're good? Is there any other way to verify the iso's?

Here is the log from an iso that wouldn't play off my external(unrecognized disc), but I was able to install to the xbox HDD and the game runs fine as long as I use xk3y to load the iso from my external.

ABGX seems fine and yes, they go in the same folder where you've put your ISO files in.
Aside from trying a different USB port and reflashing the Linux kernel to the uSD, possibly switching it out, I kinda ran out of ideas.

Oh, I have already done that twice to the SD card. I've also tried all the different USB ports. The one iso i got to run actually didn't really run. It made it further than any other game, but after I pushed start the game crashed and said "unrecognized disc". It's strange, I've installed 5 iso's and they all play fine when installed on the internal HDD, but as of now not a single iso will run from the external. I don't think my iso's are bad, it's gotta be something else. Have you heard of anyone else having similar problems?
Huh, I was pretty sure xk3y only worked with external HDDs since it's just acting as a disc emulator and the HDD needs to be directly connected to it for it to work.
