Hi guys. I scoured through the thread and came across people mentioning a "resolution cheat" for the game. What does it do and where can i find it?

I'm running the game docked with DunArd's v1.3 and it certainly help a bit with clarity but i think the resolution is just too low to be enjoyed especially on a larger TV screen. Does the resolution cheat help upscale the internal resolution somehow? Im willing to OC my switch if that's what it takes to achieve higher clarity.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/xenoblade-chronicles-3-graphics-settings.616287/post-9899559 Here is the cheat, u only need to enable the 1080p one (or depends on the resolution u want). From my understanding it disables dynamic resolution and locks the game at the enabled cheat resolution.
I also use @DunArd's v1.3 preset w/ 1080p cheat but its only 20fps on demanding areas and battles, to mitigate this framedrop I also used @masagrator's db patch.

completed the whole game and still don't understand the 20FPS issue unless people are actually leaving the gpu clocked at 460 because I had 30FPS through the whole game without any drops using my config of course. if you are having 20FPS drops now then the final boss battle is really going to kill the performance for you because there are A LOT of effects going on at once.

Thank you! However, I hope you don't mind staying with me for a few more questions.

Does the cheat allow resolutions higher than 1080p? Also, wouldn't docking the switch already defaults the game to 1080p? From my understanding, DunArd's patch already disables the Dynamic Resolution unless i am missing something here. Do I still need the cheat in this case?

I appreciate your response.

its just an alt to messing with the config. it still won't look great with the blur effects turned on

I'm fine with 921/1583/1996 & using cheat resolution lock 1080p, very rare drop to 20fps. At the end xenoblade 2 still my favorite jrpg of all time. Clear story, open all map & all 38 hero quest 96hours with easy mode

What does this db patch do?

Hi, I've modded XC2 and XCDE's lib_nx.ini before to get pixel-perfect 720p in the past. I'm not particularly interested in changing many settings so much as just enough to remove anti-aliasing/or scaling.

As I understand it from Digital Foundry's video, XC3 works a little bit differently from the past games. They say that the game renders in 540p and then uses an AI reconstruction upscaler to get a 1080p picture.

Is it possible to disable this AI upscaler and all anti-aliasing to get a raw 540p render? (or whatever resolution the game natively renders without upscaling, aa, or filters)

Today i switched to OLED

and what should i say..

with all your configs and patches it looks so damn good. Now fan goes only 30-40% with gpu 768 not like erista v1 100%. Finally i can enjoy it with stable 30fps and a sharp image. It feels like a new console with XB4 :D

Just a quick question if playing using DLC do i only have the lib_nx.bin file in the dlc filepath? Nothing else? No files in the exefs_patches folder or the original 010074F013262000 filepath? Strictly the one lib_nx.bin file in the atmosphere/contents/010074F013263001/romfs/monolib/shader filepath?

Thanks

Hey I have a couple questions for people on this thread. I’m interested in using this config but also scared because I’m new to all this especially modding switch. I’m currently playing xenoblade 3 on my modded switch overclocked and I’m having a blast but my fans are loud and don’t want to damage switch. Couple of questions. What are the benefits of running this config? Will my fan not be as loud? Will the game have even more consistent 30 fps and is it true someone told me I will experience more game crashes?
