ok, got the voices working.

It's not in the cpk.
It's simply some missing folders in the stream/voice/pc/us folder. After transferring the missing folders from the jpn game (and overwriting the rest to have everything jpn) the mute girl is now happily shouting and moaning in jpn everything else I left in english.

Are you running the game with full Japanese voice over? If so, can you describe how you accomplished it?

I'm writing a simple patcher at the moment(we maybe can expand that later with font size, menus and textures if we can get a cpk repacker running), although it's really not that difficult.
At the moment you can't achieve full japanese voiceover, since the sound cpk can't be repacked, but battle voices are possible. Just copy everything in /stream/voice/<subfolders>/jp/ and /stream/ev_voice/<subfolders>/jp/ in the jap version to /stream/voice/<subfolders>/us/ and /stream/ev_voice/<subfolders>/us/ and load the folders with caffiine. There are some issues like wrong lipsync, but these can't be fixed at the moment.

Sometimes, but it often introduces new problems due to the Japanese engine not being prepared for some aspect of the English script, and sometimes won't work at all, also anyone's guess on how stuff like menus and whatnot will turn out.

I know Tales of Graces f got undubbed this way back when only the Japanese version was playable on NA systems, they constantly had to go back and keep fixing it and eventually ditched it entirely once they were able to insert the Japanese voices into the NA version since it turned out much easier and less buggy.

So far only noticed one thing wrong with using the jpn save on eur game, which is in the menu, when changing gear or skills for example, I can only see my name, Elma name and the other members only show up as dots (or stars, can't really tell).

My guess is that it's trying to display the japanese names but doesn't have the corresponding jpn fonts in the eur game. Tomorrow I'll see if the jpn game has more fonts in the cpk archive and if yes I'll add them to the eur cpk.

Well, couldn't find any other fonts to use with the jpn save, I guess it's a rpx/system thing, not a big problem tho.

I changed the dof and blur in the ini to on, don't see any difference in-game so far.
The clouds thing dunno if it did anything either, maybe more foggy at long distance, not sure...

Also tried to turn on the shadowhalf setting and the game doesn't boot with that one on.

I'm guessing those .catex files are the texture files right? anyway to open them in an editor or something?

Catex files are textures, but they are in no common format(likely some proprietary monolith thing). I really don't know why some cpks are working and some aren't. Monolib seems to repack without problems, but menu and snd just won't work.

Which version of the criware packer and which arguments do you use?
I used the 1.36 to do unpack and repack, align 2048 and mask directories.

I also tried to add the different files from the jpn script.cpk and menu.cpk to the eur game, but also no change in menus or making the avatar, the game remained playable even with the script files changed.

Btw, where is the language set (to be able to display jpn text)? in the rpx or in some xml or so?

OK, i managed to uncensor the eur game

It's in the chr_pc.cpk file, among the unpacked files from that cpk there's 242 files named like: *_us.*
For each of those 242 files there's 242 other files with the same name just without the "_us" before the extension, so we simply have to make a copy of those 242 files without _us in them, delete the original *_us.* files and add _us to the files we copied so they become the same name of the originals. Then repack the cpk.

Done, our 13y old also has the right to wear a proper swimsuit now ^^. (we probly dun need to rename all the 242 files just for the swimsuit i guess, but pinpointing which ones are would be a pita!)

I still have the blur=on in the ini file, and noticed that while running there's a blur effect on the body.
I remember the blurred ground even without the blur=on but dun remember about the body, is that the normal way or from the blur setting?

Btw, I haven't undub the dialogs yet cause of the lipsync problems reported, but probly it will be like the textures and simply have to rename the original files (i guess in snd.cpk) and bring over the files from the jpn game, I may try it later.
