It's not illegal to mod your 360 but you will void any warranty and risk getting banned from XBL.

There are no direct laws against console modding. You can do things with a modded console that is illegal such as piracy. Closest law when it comes to console modding is in Japan with it being illegal to profit from modding other peoples consoles.
Nobody is going to jail you because you hacked your personal 360 console.

Personal modding is fine I believe. It's just if you profit from it that it's illegal.
I generally don't mod my consoles for piracy in most cases. I generally do it for game mods and dumping my games.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.+1 -

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.+1 -
