ROM Hack would super mario bros 3 be possible with the NSMB2 engine?

I saw recently that there is a level editor for New Super Mario Bros. 2 and since it has pretty much the abilities ( minus the hammer suit, frog suit, and a couple of other items) would hacking the game to have the same levels as the 3rd game be possible?

You could try replicate the levels in the editor. But they may not be 100% similar.

I had a lil go once just for fun, downfall is afaik the editor still cannot edit zone sizes or entrance/exit locations which essentially limits all levels to 1 screen or changing the layout to fit your exit/entrances over those of the original level

really cool move with the two levels in one thing you did, that kinda stinks to about the sizes and entrance and exit locations but maybe someday
