Hacking Would it be possible to play Wii U games like Smash with USB controllers?

I'm asking this becasue it would be awesome if you could use a PS3/PS4 controller on your Wii U to play Smash. It would be awesome, so that we can play with these controllers instead of having to buy an GC adapter, use a 3DS to play (no) or a wiimote. I thought it would be possible since Nintendont does this as well with GC games. Does it exist, and if not is it possible to develop?

EDIT: And I don't mean using Wiimote to PS4 adapters by the way.
