Whenever i boot dosbox and run the win3ds.bat file, i always get starting windows 95 for a few seconds, then it says "windows was not properly shut down. One or more of your disc drives may have errors on it. Press any key to run ScanDisk on these drives". From here, if i wait a minute (because i cant press any keys) it boots Scandisk, and then i get a black screen saying microsoft scandisk at the top. After another minute, it runs scandisk and it checks my c drive. Isn't it supposed to boot right into windows? Any help? If that isn't enough info i can post a video of it.

no. I have w95.img from the correct source in a folder on the root labeled "windows". I have the .bat in there too. I run the retroarch dosbox 3dsx from the latest nightly and i select win3ds.bat in the windows folder. I get to dosbox, and instead of booting, i get the error specified above.

I have the exact same issue! I tried it with the .3dsx and .cia, the .bat and .img are in the same folder. I tried different .img's, including the one from iDOS(checked MD5 hash).

I think that's normal, but you have to set up controls first so you can get through the Scandisk menu.

For some reason I have got the W95.img file, 3ds.bat file, and retroarch, but the whole thing just does not want to boot up W95! Can anyone help me out? It's either that or the IMG is not working. I have had multiple IMG files and that was pretty much the cause of the problem. Could someone send me a working IMG file of win95 through a PM. That might fix the problem because I have used about 3-5 different IMG files and maybe even more.

There is a way by installing windows 95 through virtualbox and running it then getting the img file. I have to scratch that out because the previous owner of my current computer put a password on the bios that I do not know and cannot enable the virtualbox features sadly. You can still send each other the files trough a private message because that is how gbatemp rolls because no harm done I guess...
