Gaming Windows 7 RC

Tried out RC1 this weekend on my T500 laptop, it's pretty solid. It ran all of my steam games (note: one, TF2) and it hasn't crashed from normal use, yet. I did manage to crash to UI, not the system, by messing around with NTFS junction points... but the UI would just restart.

The only problem is Lenovo's driver support at the moment (or I haven't been able to find some). One of these days, I'll just installed the Vista software for the 'hotkeys' and such so the volume controls work properly with on-screen display.

Video drivers were fine with the Win7 Catalyst drivers from ATI (with a bit of MobiliyModder, of course). (Radeon HD 3650)

I never had the chance, or will, to play around with Vista, I'm sure it's fine now, so this is a pretty big jump for me.

I do enjoy how fast everything is. Install, fast. Bootup, fast. Sleep and UnSleep, fast. TF2, fast.

WARNING: If you uninstall that driver, your going to need to do a system restore! Don't learn the hard way like me!

Thanks for the heads-up! I've done a few installs of the catalyst drivers ON-TOP of other installs, but I have not uninstalled!

I'll play with it more after work today

One quick question before I jump the boat.
When you upgrade, how do you downgrade if your Vista was a preinstalled kind?

No. You'll have to do a fresh install.

You'll probably need to reinstall Vista by buying it or download it off the internet...

But if I were you, I would stick with multibooting.
That way, once the trial period is over, you still got your original OS to work with.

your key for vista still works, it doesnt convert the key at all so youll be safe when installing

I'm with PB on this one. If you've got the space, multiboot it.
