I'd normally make a joke in response but I don't want to derail the thread.

Anyway imho I think we will eventually see a switch flashcart. But I'm guessing we won't see one until at least a year and a half to two years.

Well it's possible but unless they can reverse engineer the game cards and the security measures of the switch it won't happen. I seriously wouldn't be surprised by it but I very much hope that a free method is released.

I like how op says It uses cartridges like DS Lite, there many nintendo systems that use cartridges.

Since most of them do use carts, why not rule out possibility of switch having one. I wish there was a such thing as flash disc, for other systems.

Also, yeah every other Ninty system that uses cartridges has bootlegs/SD Flash cart adapters/junk. I'm sure the Switch will have one within the next 10 years as well.

The wii/u has no cart slot so it by def. cant use flashcart *facepalm*
And the wii was out half a decade before the 3ds so...

Aparently gateway/sky3ds is working on somthing.

I don't know if I'm going to buy another Gateway product seeing how they treated their Gateway 3ds customers. I'd prefer a cfw this time.

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a flashcard eventually. Nearly every system that has been cartridge based has had a flashcard of some kind pop up over the years.

now that i think about it, you are very right! every cartridge-based nintendo system got a flashcart.

It'll probably be a hybrid thing like the Gateway, where the card serves as both a DRM thing and an extra storage to launch games from. That's assuming anything ever comes out and the homebrew/piracy stuff isn't stopped dead in its tracks by updates and game crypto the same way Vita and PS4 were.
