But now that the doors of wii homebrew have been opened, perhaps we'll see some interesting developments.

Yea not with these dvd hacks, we need some real modchips.

Would most likely loose the online side but gain full wii homebrew capabilities.

Well I would hope that now that native Wii homebrew is soon to be a possibility, there would be a good chance of being able to change or flash a custom or different region firmware onto your Wii so it could play most games. I am personally crossing my fingers for this, as I'm stuck with a JAP Wii when compatibility is getting less and less...
